I was an Exchange Officer with the Aussie Army from 1997 until 2001. I frequently visited the Mad Cow and truly enjoyed everything about it. Seeing that it is still there and going strong, I had to leave this review! Food, drinks and the overall environment was the absolute best one could ask for. I’m back in Huntsville, AL and wish I was back there. Thanks for the great memories of The Mad Cow! I spent lots of money there and always got more in return.

After some fairly robust security checks at the door , my wife and I ( both in our 60,s) joined our younger party animals for a few dances and drinks to end a lovely evening.. All staff were very welcoming and friendly especially the security man with the goat beard.

Been to plenty of bars around the world and I had a good time the 3-4 times we’ve stopped by the Mad Cow now. Security is there to keep the people safe since the town is flooded currently by military types. Had a bit of fun punching the machine and the ladies behind the bar know how to handle a crowd and make excellent drinks in a hurry. Appreciate Cooper there opening up on time and ready to serve a pint. Kind fellow. Mooooo Mates! 🍻

Very sub par. Meals were cold and service terrible. Absolutely filthy bathrooms and amenities. Go anywhere else.

Rolled into Townsville at 7pm on a Tuesday night.
Called in to the Mad Cow around 9pm.
Not many people there.
Very cheap standard drinks.
Crowd increased a little as the night went on.
They had a few little games that involved volunteers from the crowd coordinated by a confident young lady who did a great job with what she had to work with.
All in all a good place for a drink.
We were the oldest people there but still a good night.
