Very disappointed.
We had a table for two at the end of the deck with beautiful views, but unfortunately, the brand-new roof was leaking, causing water to drip onto my head and shoulders. We had to move the table ourselves to avoid getting wet, and I noticed another table experiencing the same issue, with water dripping from the downlight above them.
After placing our drink order, the wine arrived promptly, but the cocktail took much longer. When it did arrive, the Blue Breeze cocktail looked great but was mostly just pieces of ice jammed into the glass tumbler, which was disappointing.
When ordering our meals, we decided on our entrees, and for mains, we chose pasta and steak, along with a side of cheesy bread. The bread arrived first, before the entrees. We pointed out the mistake to the waitress, who took the bread away. However, the bread was later returned with the explanation that the kitchen had not made any mistake, as the original order didn’t clarify that the bread was a side to the mains. By the time the bread was returned, it was cold, and we refused to pay for it.
The quality of the food was below expectations. The bruschetta came with burnt, old bread and far too much tomato with no other discernible flavors. The scallops were raw and cold. As for the mains, my husband ordered the bug and crab linguine. He took only a few mouthfuls, saying it tasted like cold, canned spaghetti with tin crab. I thought I could rely on the steak, but it was a letdown. I was given a butter knife instead of a steak knife, and when my husband brought me the correct knife, I found that the steak was cooked rare, bordering on blue, despite ordering medium-rare. The broccoli was cold and hard, and while the potato galette had a delicious top, the center was cold. The only saving grace was the creamy white wine sauce and three prawns, which were cooked perfectly.
The service throughout was lacking — the waitress didn’t acknowledge the issues with the meal, and we didn’t feel the need to bring up the poor food quality with the person handling the bill, as we didn’t expect any resolution.
We really hope the kitchen and management take this feedback seriously and implement changes to avoid these issues for future guests. Unfortunately, given this experience, we won’t be returning.

Great location, especially to watch the sunset. Good selection of cocktails and very friendly service.
My laksa was not my favourite meal, but my dining companions thoroughly enjoyed their fish and the calamari was perfectly cooked.

Bad:
-Bruschetta was burned and too much tomato and not much else
-Scallops were raw and cold
-Mains sides (Cheesy garlic bread) came out with our entree. We sent it back, then the waitress brought it back out and we were told the waitress that took our order wrote them down wrong so we are stuck with it (it was nice and cold by the time we had mains.)
-Water leak in the roof
-Female toilet was blocked
-Vegetables with main were cold
-Bug and Crab linguine; Pasta was over cooked and flavourless. Minimal seafood and tasted like tinned crab.
-Eye fillet: Ordered medium rare steak but came out blue.
- Got a butter knife for the steak. Had to go ask for a steak knife
- Cocktails a little slow coming out

Good:
-Prawns on the steak were very good.
-Potatoes were good, although hot on top and cold in the middle .
-Water was cold.
-View was very good
-Wait staff were fast and very friendly

Great coffee, kuddos to the barista. The view from the restaurant is nothing to complain about. Breakfast was below average, needed more attention from chefs, bacon was burned and scrambled eggs were dry even though it was not so busy, hope there will be improvements next time.

This was my go to Townsville restaurant before the recent renovations. It still has the best views/locations, but the food quality has dropped, and the service is now slow and less friendly/welcoming as it was before.

I also attended the NYE function, expensive and poorly organised. At $230 a ticket the canopes were delivered sparingly, our table was frequently missed, and we did not receive all the items as listed/advertised. We had to complain several times to the rude staff before we got food brought to us. This was a presale event, so they should have known how many guests to expect, but they were still bringing out chairs and tables mid way through the night. The location, view of fireworks, and band were faultless, but they need to bring the food and service back to what it once was. The NYE function was disappointing and definitely not value for money.

Title: A Delightful Dining Experience at C Bar in Townsville

I recently visited C Bar in Townsville, Australia, and I must say, it was an outstanding experience. The ambience of the restaurant is incredibly calming, allowing you to hear the gentle sound of the waves as you dine. It's the perfect backdrop for a relaxing meal. We started with dumplings for an appetizer, which were absolutely delicious, followed by the Seafood Plate for one. Both dishes were flavorful, well-prepared, and satisfyingly portioned. The staff at C Bar deserves a special mention as well; they were not only polite and friendly but extremely knowledgeable, answering all our questions with a smile. I highly recommend C Bar for anyone looking for a top-notch dining experience by the sea. The combination of scrumptious food, serene environment, and excellent service truly makes this place a gem in Townville.
