What an awesome set up. Went here for some family birthday celebrations today. Loads of room out the back for the kids to play on the trampolines and sand area. Big paddock for them to kick the footy and soccer ball too. Food and service was exceptional. Heard lots about this place and it did not disappoint

Beautiful garden setting with a big play area for kids that doesn't impose on the majority of the large eating area. The only thing that spoiled the lush, relaxed ambience was the music which was loud pub/club genre. A more laid back relaxing choice would have enhanced our experience rather than detracted from it.
Food was good and service was prompt. The staff is friendly and attentive.

An almost hidden gem. Who knew this was such an amazing place to visit. Carefully thought out layout open plan, outdoor feel. Lovely atmosphere. Lovely staff. Food was amazing, so fresh and delicious. Plenty to choose from to suit all palets. Fun play area for kids.

Absolutely love the ambiance of The Doonan and it’s such an incredible venue but the food is a hit and miss.

Had overcooked salmon and an undercooked steak that was rare instead of med rare.

Had an amazing cheeseburger and an overcooked blob of mushy “gnocchi”

Such an incredible venue, but the food falls short and after three visits with crapshoot food results will most likely not be making the journey again.

What a great discovery this place was! Awesome setting with beautiful gardens, huge bar area, pizzeria and restaurant with every type of seating you can imagine. The service from staff was friendly and polite, food was good (not amazing but pretty good). Take the kids, because they have everything for them - a huge field with rugby posts, balls, giant bouncing pillow, 2 x tramps, etc etc. Adults can eat and drink and you won't see the kids for an hour or two! Highly recommend.

A really beautiful place to have dinner with your family. An excellent menu, great pizzas and a drinks and a lot of seating.

The playground for the kids is an amazing idea so parents can keep an eye on them but also enjoy their dinner and relax. Very aesthetic and well set out, will be back for sure!

My daughters and I really enjoyed The Doonan. Although it was a very hot day when we went, the amenities for kids were wonderful and the food and service were equally as wonderful. I do wish we lived closer so we could go more often.

Our first time going to The Doonan and it is a beautiful tavern. The dining area is like walking into a garden oasis full of plants, trees, flowers and statuary. The area is huge but, it is divided so well by the greenery that it feels very intimate and welcoming. The water spray from the fans is genius and made the atmosphere feel tropical, but cool. The hostess was friendly and informative. It is a very extensive menu making it hard to choose! Prices are on the expensive side eg we both had the Aylsbury Duck at $36, but there are cheaper options. As the saying goes, 'you get what you pay for' and our duck was very good and worth the price. It was not a huge serving and there could have been some larger pieces of the delicious pumpkin, but the potato gratin was excellent. The duck was a little tough and the skin could have been a little more rendered and crispy. The red wine jus was excellent, sticky with a deep flavour. But, I am being picky as it was still a very tasty and satisfying meal. We both had enjoyable non-alcoholic cocktails to accompany the meal. Great environment, delicious meals and friendly staff. We will be back!
