DO NOT BOOK. Owner was rude, disgusting and would not give a receipt. Very dodgy, acted entitled and needs a lesson in customer service. He cancelled our booking at the very last minute, during the peak period when I insisted on a receipt. Friends of ours have advised he films you and spies on you at the property. Dodged a bullet on this one. Had a lovely stay elsewhere.

Our family occupied two of the three cottages over the new year period.

The setting is idyllic with lots of birds and frequent visits by kangaroos.

All the advertised facilities were in good working order and the cottages were well appointed.

The owner Al was responsive to the few requests we had.

Complimentary baskets of snacks in each cottage and a fridge with drinks in the games room was a nice touch.

The kids spent much time in the pool area that had plenty of seats and shade for parents & carers.

Internet and phone reception was patchy but if your purpose is to get away from emails and phone calls then this is the perfect place to spend some time relaxing.

Bermagui is about 12 minutes away if you need to shop or are desperate for an ice cream and there are some beautiful beaches within walking distance - and lovely walks to get there as well.

Worth a visit

Nice location, average accommodation, too many rules. Some of the appliances and kitchen ware and towels were very poor quality and should have been thrown out years ago. Lots of signs telling you what was not allowed. For the price paid would expect better quality and upkeep of the rooms and inclusions

If I could give this place a 0 star review, I would and even that is a higher rating then the moral standards that this manager displays.||||A complete pervert, he films you, against your wishes and wants to pick on any issue that he deems “against his terms and conditions”. ||There are little laminated signs everywhere. Effectively ensuring whatever scam this owner is running he can catch you out on.||Tried to tell us we took his filthy linen and a pillow, plus many other pointless issues after we paid full market price, in a location that is struggling for tourists after awful bushfires.||||We were left without power for almost a full day. No compensation.||We had a bat flying around our cabin. ||No access granted to the pool table. ||None of the appliances were tested or tagged.||The place is borderline illegal with NSW holiday let legislation. ||||We left the place in a clean and tidy manner, following his laminated checklist to a tee. Yet he was still not happy.||||The manager will try and bully you and call you dishonest, but let’s face it, his poorly run accomodation and terrible customer service just shows you not to even consider staying at this place.

DO NOT VISIT.

Nice location, good access to beaches and reasonable facilities. That's where the good news ends.

If you want rooms full of cobwebs, poorly supplied bathrooms/ kitchens and an incredibly rude manager/owner who is constantly watching your every move, go no further than Dybara Park.

The manager made it clear that our group was unwelcome very early on and nearly kicked us out, with no prior warning, for an admitted minor rule breach. Instead of offering an admonishment and a chance to correct our mistake, the manager proceeded to film us without our consent while telling us to leave the property. His demeanour was aggressive, belittling and served only to escalate a situation that could have been dealt with with civil dialogue.

The manager was regularly seen watching us from the window of the office for the duration of our stay.

Upon leaving on our final day, the manager was not present for us to finalise our stay. Once we were home the organiser of our trip received an email stating that over $400 of our deposit would not be returned due to a claim of missing pillows, sheets and bedding. No proof was provided by the manager. These claims were entirely false and no such items were stolen. If we wanted used, barely adequate bedding we'd go to Vinnie's and at least give our money to someone who deserves it.

Further investigation, namely other reviews for this accomodation, has found that it is not the first time accusations of theft have been levelled against guests.

Best advice: there's better places to stay in Bermagui, with better views, better facilities and far better service.

Stay here at risk to your privacy and your wallet

We were attending my sons wedding in the area and sought some accommodation in close proximity - this property came up. ||After making numerous calls and leaving messages I gave up, but then received a message in response a couple of months later. I tried to return the call, within an hour or two but again had to leave a message, which was not returned. I called again in January and was told I had to email the details of the booking. I did so and was sent a quote and advised I needed to pay a 50% deposit to secure the accommodation. I wasn't overly concerned by this at the time, we needed the accommodation and was happy to proceed. ||The email I received with the booking informaion was ridiculously long, with superfluous information about the location, features, accommodation facilities, local attractions etc etc. I am busy so did not have time to read it all - most of it I thought I had checked on the website.||3 weeks prior to our arrival I received an email asking if we still intended to proceed with the booking as they had 'serious inquiry for our dates'/ I panicked a little and confirmed we were requiring the accommodation we had secured with our 50% deposit. this conversation occurred over the space of a week - response to emails could be slow. I was then advised that I was supposed to pay in full, as well as a significant deposit of $500 at least 28 days prior to arrival - this information was hidden in the lengthy email I had received. I was not able to pay at that time, but promised to attend as soon as able (I was shocked as we usually pay the balance of accommodation on arrival). Life got in the way (I was preparing for my sons wedding as well as working long hours) and forgot to do the transfer. I received another email 5 days prior to arrival, advising that if I did not pay the full amount, plus the deposit, they would rebook the accommodation. At this time I also was made aware that the 50% deposit was fully not refundable. (I am talking $800 here!) Again I panicked and made arrangements to pay the deposit. I received 8 emails on this day which were cut and paste statements portions of previous emails, with the dates of the email being sent. Again, i was quite confronted by the tone and insinuations.||I advised that we would be arriving late and asked if the cottage would be open on arrival. I was travelling with two ladies in their late 80's. I was told we were in cottage 2 and it would be open. ||We arrived at approximately 10:30pm. There is no signage to the accommodation, the only sign I saw was the office and a stop sign - which I assumed was the driveway to the residence. I saw a torch light approaching the vehicle, after i had turned around to see if I could find the accommodation and wound my wimdow down - my car is covered in signwriting which includes my surname. The owner stopped about 20 feet from my vehicle and said ' What do you want?". Again confronted by the approach, i advised who I was and he said that we are in cottage 2 and the light was on. Thankfully there are only 3 units as we couldn't find a number on the units for the duration of the stay!! It was the middle one.||The units are basic but comfortable, i don't think they are worth the $300/night for 4 occupants. No tea, coffee or milk (apparently they have ant issues if they put it in the accommodation), no hairdryer, the toiletries are large containers of cheap soaps bought from a supermarket. The linen on the bed smelt of previous occupants. The icing on the cake was the paperwork on the kitchen bench itemising every item in the cottage and in small print at the bottom the advise that, in the interest of keeping the price down, cleaning was not included and was to be attended prior to departure - you have to be out by 10 mind you - or pay approximately $100 additional for cleaning. Oh, and they don't provide any cleaning products. ||There are laminated notices everywhere with instructions, such as having short showers, turning lights off, not mixing items from different cottages, etc etc. Irons have been removed, apparently due to accidents, and you have to request one from the office.||The cottages are approximately 15km out of the nearest town, so if you want a coffee when you awake, ensure you take supplies with you.||The grounds are lovely, very peaceful, and the convenience for the occasion was good. However, there are two other options within a kilometre, and have much better accommodation and service, for similar price. ||We did receve our bond back in full, after getting up early on the morning after my sons wedding and cleaning the units. We ensured we were out by 10am. i received an email after departure requesting I confirm the number of occupants had not exceeded the booked number, which I interpreted as questioning my integrity.||We certainly won't be returning, and left with a fairly sour taste in our mouth from our experience.
