Waterview Resort - Caloundra, Queensland

The Waterview Resort is the ideal place with the ideal location to stay. The management team are a dream and the units we have stayed in over the years have all been very comfortable and well maintained. If you are going to Caloundra do yourself a favour and try The Waterview because you won't regret it. One thing though .....recently noticed that The Waterview is listing a 2nd Floor unit for the same cost as a penthouse unit Apparently the listed 2nd floor unit is fully renovated, however, for the same money, do yourself another favour, if you can stay in one of the penthouse units try it out and I am sure you won't regret that choice either. Not only do the penthouse units have spectacular views and very comfortable indeed , each has its own rooftop deck area to relax and unwind ( added bonus - 2 car parking spaces with the penthouse units)

Great place to stay in the centre of everything that you need. Staff were very helpful. Nice modern and clean rooms and a quiet complex. The pool was great too and the perfect temperature for a swim after being at the beach.

My family and I have stayed at this wonderful place on many occasions over the years - the units, location and the management team are the reasons we choose The Waterview. Recently we were looking at availability to stay again at The Waterview and noticed a new entry on their website listing a level 2 unit separate from the other level 2 units. The unit is listed as a “ fully renovated unit” and upon checking further, the rental amount being asked for this unit on level 2 is exactly the same amount being asked for a 2 bedroom penthouse unit and only a bit less than the amount being asked for the three bedroom penthouse unit at The Waterview. This review is written from the perspective of someone who always believes in comparing “ apples with apples” so to speak - so for all you holidaymakers in the making , please know that The Waterview Resort in Caloundra is a wonderful place to stay in all ways, shapes and forms, however, when considering accommodation, comparing apples with apples can have you in a penthouse unit rather than a level 2 unit.Personally, I don’t care how newly renovated a unit is, I don’t think it’s comparable to the choices available relative to the cost. Whilst I think The Waterview Resort is great value for money, for my money, if my choices were a level two unit or a penthouse unit for the same money , it would be a penthouse unit at The Waterview each and every time - this review is written from a purely personal viewpoint and opinion. We have chosen to stay at Waterview over Winter for a number of years now. The location is perfect, across from Happy Valley park and the beach with easy walking to shops and cafes. The units are clean and extensively equipped, including large fridge; washer & dryer; comfy beds. The secure undercover carpark and elevator are a deal breaker for us. Onsite managers Ella and Jason are always very welcoming, friendly and professional.They make themselves available to assist with any queries we may have or with suggestions of items of interest. I have stayed at the Waterview Resort many times over the years and have always enjoyed the fabulous location and views. On my most recent visit I was particularly impressed with the cleanliness of the resort. A special mention to the onsite managers also, as no request was too much and they were always friendly to our kids and offered some great suggestions that they enjoyed doing. Ella in particular was always friendly and willing to go above and beyond. The units are a little on the older side but everything is comfortable, in good working order and scrupulously clean. I would not hesitate to recommend this resort to couples/families looking for a great beach getaway.

Just spent 3 fabulous nights at Waterview in the Penthouse Apartment. Views were amazing, Managers a lot of fun and very accommodating, the apartment was spacious, well appointed and spotless. Beds very comfortable . All our visitors were blown away with the views and location, we will be back. Thanks Ella and Jason

We stayed at the waterview for 5 nights and had an amazing time. The location is beautiful, our room was fantastic & Ella was super helpful! Every time we walked through reception we were greeted and would have a lovely chat. She recommended many places to visit and cafes that were also amazing

We really enjoyed our stay, just across the road from the beach, short 5min walk to calm waters and swimming flags, or 5min walk the other way to surf beach flags for swimming. Great playground (our kids 1 and 3) and coffee van across the road, and a large IGA, butcher and fruit shop 8min walk behind the building.

Our only room for improvement the pool looks to be heated on the website we visited in May was around 25 degrees. This would be refreshing in summer, little chilly for us in May. Some basics like salt / pepper / oil / glad wrap / spray and wipe would be so handy to have on hand, but these were easily purchased when se ventured to the shops.

The mink blankets were l lovely and soft, and our interactions with management were great after reading mixed reviews they were so pleasant to our kids. We would stay again!
