Absolutely loves these cosy rooms. And my little daughter likes coming here too. Very tidy and clean, and the owners are very friendly. Child friendly. And to laze around in the pool on a hot day right Infront of that ocean was very nice. And I love how secure the place Is. This is our go to in Townsville. Thankyou Waters Edge for having me and my little girl there.

Our experience started off well. I rang Water’s Edge direct and got a great price for a three night stay. It was still expensive for what it was but the location was great so we overlooked the smell (eg, there was a car air freshener attached to the elevator railing) and age, and got on with enjoying our family holiday. ||We noticed we had been overcharged for the room by $20 so my husband went to enquire about it. When he spoke to the receptionist she explained the extra charge was for changing the king size bed in our kid’s room to 2 singles. The receptionist was immediately defensive about the charge, saying it was to pay for the extra linen. She was quite condescending in that conversation, and my husband walked away shaking his head. When he told me about it I explained I had spoken to a male on the phone and had told him we would have kids in that room. I assumed the bed would automatically be split based on this information. ||The next day on our way out to the Strand, I thought I would stop and ask about the $20 again, based on my initial conversation when I booked. I was immediately met with the same condescending attitude from the receptionist, who told me my husband was ‘whinging’ about $20. As if an unauthorised credit card transaction shouldn’t be queried? I was shocked by how she was speaking to us and I told her so. At no point during this conversation was I rude or demanding, but she shut the blind down in front of my face and walked away. ||By this point we were both fuming. I sent her an email explaining some things that were missing from the room (I didn’t want any additional unexpected charges), and expressing I didn’t understand why she was being so rude to us. It just didn’t make sense! I also asked that she make no further charges on our credit card without contacting us first. 5 minutes later I got a phone call from her asking us to pack up and leave within an hour and a half and she would refund our money. I asked her on what grounds and she said she didn’t want anyone staying there who would be unhappy. We packed up the children from the splash park and left. ||I’m still reeling from this entire exchange. The escalation that this woman took our enquiry to left me with concerns regarding her mental stability. The entire thing was so far from normality. I haven’t even expressed it very well here as there was so much vitriol from this perfect stranger I’m still a bit in shock. I’ll never stay there again, and I’ll be advising everyone I know to do the same. I hope no one else has this same issue with this woman.

From the moment we walked into reception for a last minute booking, we were greeted with a very friendly and accommodating manager. The great sized room was exceptionally clean with everything we needed during our stay. We look forward to future stays. Thank you 😊 Kylie and Bas.

I have stayed here a few times, and will continue to return. The rooms are dated but clean with decent enough wifi. The parking is great with a locked up area. The pool, spa and bbq area are also nice with a good view. My favorite reason to stay here though is the location, with plenty of good restaurants in the area!

Plenty of space in the room, large fridge and new kitchenette. Tv in parents room as well as lounge room, dining table great for a family with kid's. Pool was clean and Spar was a welcome addition.

Arrived tired and exhausted today, was greeted very warmly and explanation given on the hotel and surrounding restaurants.|Came up to the room with a garden view and was bright, neat and tidy.|Would be a great place to stay for a week, just across the road frim the beach, surrounded by restaurants and cafes and 2 kms from the city centre.|Well positioned and has everything you need !!

The hotel itself is showing it's age. It was clean and the bed comfortable. Parking in the garage is really tight, I was driving a ute and it took me a couple of tries to get it into a space where I would not be blocking others. I was there for work, and working long hours. The first night I was there the plumbing woke me up from next door. I did not realize what it was until I turned on the hot water tap in the bath the next morning, sorry neighbours, the tap made a really loud noise that vibrated everything. I was exhausted when I returned to the hotel and was woken up again by the plumbing. I reported the problem the next day, hopefully it has been resolved.

Really wish we could have turned the aircon off during the night especially. It rattled and hummed at times and kept us up, and to be honest it got alittle cool in there.

Shower could use a soap holder of some sort

Bed side tables would come in handy

Location excellent, room very clean.
