Smokey Joe's appears to have had a major turn around from other recent reviews. Having spent the last 5 days here on a work trip,.I've sample a number of meals on the new menu. Without fail, every meal has been outstanding, with service quick and friendly. The beef ribs has been the pick of the meals so far, the bones literally sliding out clean from the tender meat. All the staff have been super friendly and I can't fault anything.

Unfortunately even 1 star is to generous for this restaurant. tried to give smokey Joe's a second go after a not so great experience last time as I know restaurants can have off nights. This time around was even worse. Over an hour wait on food for 4 people. Everything was cold and soggy. There was only 3 tables in the restaurant with people so being busy can not be an excuse. There was a small function birthday party which apparently meant that no other tables could be served until that table was ready to eat. We were seated at 6pm and received our meals at 730. Not once was the long delay mentioned to us but still not an excuse for the ridiculous wait time. Food could not even be sent out together. All of out table had maybe 3 bites of what they tried to call food and left. We will definitely not be returning to smokey Joe's which is a shame as the restaurant used to be amazing. Clearly a change of kitchen staff is required and better training for front of house would be highly recommended

Firstly we got a daily hot buffet breakfast with our stay! Delicious meals! We were even allowed to take extra back to munch on later. Secondly we got a few room service deliveries. Again delicious and wasn't that long of a wait! The ribs were huge and very generous. Banana splits delicious! Everything yum. We also ate out in the restaurant for dinner one night. Again delicious food, fast and friendly service. I think was only 1 mistake with a drink which was cleared up and replaced as soon as brought to their attention. Fantastic and highly recommended! So we did dine in and delivery and we did breakfast, dinner, dessert and room service dinner/dessert.

If I could rate this place 100/5 I would. I had most of the items on the menu throughout the six weeks I was there, and never had one bad dish. Very reasonable price, couldn’t praise the staff and service highly enough, and the food kept me coming back for more.

If you’re a seafood lover, you have to stop by Smokey Joe’s and try their seafood hot pot and paella. Two best dishes I’d had in Hervey Bay.

We were staying at the resort so we checked out the menu online. Mr 11, who is a fussy eater needed to be fed. When we saw cheese burgers on the menu we thought fantastic. The rest of the menu looked good to the adults. We passed by late afternoon after our swim and low and behold the internet lied! The actual menu has changed and what is advertised is not correct. We took our money to a lovely restaurant by the marina. We tried Smokey Joe's for coffee first thing in the morning and it took a while to make, not a good sin. It was weak and so luke warm I drank the regular coffee before even getting to reception. They has a bin by the icecream machine, so that's where I put my empty cup. My companion heated hers up later. The buffet looked nice and reminiscent of times past. There weren't many people in for breakfast so I wondered how long it all sat there. We got fantastic coffee and amazing service at Miss CoCos later in the morning.

Amazing food and drinks, the staff were very friendly. We had a couple of cocktails and some tapas. Would recommend!

Don't worry about going to th me buffet breakfast.. not worth the $25 charge. Food is not stocked up enough for the amount of people there for breakfast, no fruit at all (had all been eaten) no sauce, no bread, no juice, no bowls or plates.. pancakes served and were raw in the middle. Needed more staff on as it was quite busy and there was only 1 wait staff and 1 chef. Shame as we were looking forward to it, definitely don't bother.

Not worth $25 for all you can eat. We dined at 7:30am. The food was not refreshed or topped up. Scrambled eggs were crusty and pretty much empty, for the hour we were there, it didn’t get replaced. The same for the baked beans, mushrooms and poached eggs. Overall really poor quality food and dining experience.
