Such a picturesque little place. The units were well maintained, very clean with heaps of space. The managers (I'm assuming) were very pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely return - with my boat next time.
Oh Great shower too.🙂

Don’t bother staying here. You leave something there other than clothing they just throw it out. For example we accidentally left our pre workout and creatine in the room. I contacted them a day or two later and they told us the cleaner who had the lost and found key was away? Didn’t give us a time of when they would be back or anything. Very frustrating since we are up here for work working extremely long hours Mon-Sun 6am-5pm. Told my partner to come to the reception another day so he did. Upon arrival the receptionist english was not very good at all resulting in them having to grab another person who then told him to come back another day. She grabbed his details and 20mins later TEXTED him (calling would’ve been a lot more professional and the text sounded pathetic like they didn’t care) and told them that the cleaner had THROWN OUT his CREATINE and PRE WORKOUT. They thought he didn’t need it anymore. It’s not fruit? it has an expiry on the bottom like anything else would. Thanks for throwing out $100+.

I took my partner to this hotel for a quick fishing getaway and was extremely impressed with it. I booked a self-contained poolside villa for a very affordable nightly rate, and the staff also accommodated a late check-in time for us. Usually with a self-contained room, I only expect a basic kitchen - but this little villa was TRULY self-contained. The kitchen was equipped with a full stove-top, an oven, a dishwasher, a microwave, a toaster, a kettle and all of the appliances to match. There were also a few dishwashing tablets provided. On top of that, there was also a launderette with a washing machine and dryer, with liquid available for purchase on-site. I wasn't expecting to need it, but it did prove useful for smelly fishing clothes! With such a well-equipped villa, it would be very easy to stay for a week or two.||||The villa was very clean on arrival, and featured two bedrooms. We only used one of them and the bed was very comfortable, and the aircon very chilly. It was a very short walk (less than 100m) to the nearest jetty, which was well lit at night so we could fish the whole time. There was also a second nearby jetty next to the boat ramp, again well lit.||||In terms of surrounding facilities, there's a bar, restaurant, take-away, convenience store (with basic tackle/bait and a bottle shop) and fuel available on site. Prices are comparable to city prices, with only the convenience store snacks being a little dear. Even the alcohol was comparable to town prices, and there was a good range in both the bar and the bottle-o. And if you need more tackle than the convenience store offers, there's a tackle shop right across the road next to the boat ramp that also offers reasonable prices.||||Overall, my only complaint is that we didn't have much luck with the fishing! We'll definitely be back - but next time we stay, we'll bring a boat.

Last week we and another couple stayed in “house 3” at Hinchinbrook Resort. The location was fantastic for us as we had a boat that could be tied up at the pontoon, and Dungeness Creek is handy to the protected waters of Hinchinbrook Passage, or to the Great Barrier Reef and nearby islands. ||||Having made the booking several months prior to our stay (taking a gamble that COVID restrictions would be eased), and after seeing pictures of the accommodation on the website, we believed we were going to stay in a well appointed, clean, comfortable and modern house. However, upon our arrival we discovered something very different! ||||The accommodation sat unused and closed up for the duration of the COVID lockdown in Queensland and it was obvious that not much, if anything had been done to ensure that it was up to scratch prior to welcoming guests again now that restrictions have been eased. ||||The things we found to be well below an acceptable standard was extensive, but here are some that were higher on our list:||||The leather lounge suite was fit for the rubbish tip! It was filthy, torn and mouldy, and needed to be covered before we were prepared to sit on it. ||||Of the two master bedrooms, one was missing its door completely, and the other was in a state of disrepair.||||The beds in these rooms were so hard it was like spending a night in purgatory. ||||The kitchen was poorly equipped.||||Dining table and chairs only seated 5 people when there was provisions for up to 11.||||Barbecue was filthy, had a fat catching container complete with cigarette butts and as a consequence we just put the lid back on it, refusing to use it. ||||The rear security doors did not close, let alone lock.||||The Fire Safety Tag showed that the last inspection was carried out in February 2015. Not bad considering it is supposed to be done every 6 months.||||Beyond all of this there was a very strong mould smell in the whole house.||||We took the matters up with an employee at reception and whilst she was apologetic, nothing further was done by the management during our stay.||||We absolutely know that this is not the standard of all houses available, as our friends were staying in “house 1” and it met their expectations without exception.||||There are issues here that we believe lay firmly with the resort’s management and others we assume to be the responsibility of the owner of “house 3” but what is overwhelmingly and abundantly clear is that the house shouldn’t have been made available for rental, until it was up to the same standard as “house 1”.||||We were very disappointed with the standard of the property and will not be returning. Considering we have made our holidays in the Hinchinbrook region annually for the past 3 years this could have meant further stays, which to any business is the best customer you can have!

Excellent. Well run. Walk to boat ramp and bar/restaurant/convenience store. Even have fuel at competitive prices. Unit was in need of a deep clean at end of season, but otherwise clean enough and well supplied. Check-in is in separate building across road (by the park). Highly recommend for fishers, families and as a stop for Hinchinbrook trekkers. Excellent, happy staff add to the vibe. Everything you need. Gave this 4 stars at first, but after a bit more Queensland travel, realuse that it is a stand out, deserving the full five.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. Arrived later in the afternoon and booked in for just the one night. Spent time on patio enjoying the view with a cold drink. In the early evening we retired inside. It was at this stage we discovered there was no remote for the television and the smoke detector was hanging out of the ceiling with no batteries. We attempted on several occasions to contact owners but our messages were not returned. Office was unattended. Next morning upon checkout there was no real apologies offered for the nights inconvenience and apparent lack of concern with our safety. I informed owners that I would never return to their establishment.
