I was definitely a little disappointed with my stay at Windsurfer Resort. The room my partner and I stayed in had clearly been recently painted and the room hadn't been aired (the smell was overbearing when we walked in). The bathroom door didn't close due to the paint work and it was already peeling off due to it sticking with the door jam. For the location, I couldn't fault it. Being in a quiet area was nice considering Schoolies was on. The service was average as every time I went to see reception, it was closed even in the middle of the day. Upon check out, the receptionist was confused that I was checking out, even after seeing me drive my car out of the garage. Would I stay here again, most probably not but is a good place for a cheap stay on the Gold Coast

Where do I start.
If we had somewhere else to stay we would have left, we were volunteering for the 3 days.

Black mould on the roof in the bathroom, stained quilt and foot prints on the sheets, cockroaches alive, couches stained & covered with a cover, hair under the sheets, and sheets were yellow in colour, pillows & blankets we’re disgusting and the main bedroom door didn’t close.

When we contacted the hotel, they gave us an excuse that the linen is steam cleaned, the hotel is treated every 6 months so you will find dead bugs and the bathroom had been treated and is stained from previous people not opening the window when having a shower.

When we got back to the room, they had treated the bathroom and tried to air it out and never locked the bedroom door and never told us they did this and the treatment affected our allergies.

We contacted the hotel again to be moved from the room and to ask why they never notified us that they treated the bathroom when in there first message it was only stains and they never bothered to respond to us and we still haven’t heard from them to apologise or offer a refund for the inconveniences.

Had holiday for 7 nights to Gold Coast and booked this place did see the reviews but thought I’d give them the benefit of the doubt which I regretted once I got to see the state of the place they don’t prioritise maintenance or cleaning here

Hallways stunk of weed and was incredibly stuffy, I did see the hallways getting vacuumed regularly though

The Room looked clean apon first look but didn’t take long to find out it wasn’t, insides of cupboards are all filthy. Walls all have marks on them, blinds and all broken and don’t close properly, oven fan sounds like a tractor and cuts in and out, balcony sliding door isn’t on its track properly and is difficult to open and close

There was rubbish and filth under the couch and bed looks if it hasn’t been cleaned in months bathroom had mould and stains all down the tiles was also grime all in the shower needs a very good clean not just light going over

The Sheets also had sand and what appeared to be bugs in them which we had To clean out ourselves, the quilt cover was also stained and needed a good wash
also was only given half a roll of toilet paper for 7 nights
Was given no dishwashing liquid or dishwasher tablets for the 7 nights we were here

There Also was no games room like what was in the pictures isn’t as advertised I’d book elsewhere

Convenient locations. Near shops and little cafes. Pleasant stretch of beach out front. The unit needs some updating including better stove , dishes , couch. TV worked fine for casting. Pls replace the plunger coffee pot. Two level place. Two balconies. View towards pool and spa pool from kitchen window. Couldn’t get the AC/heater inverter to work in the living room. The one in the bedroom works, but has a rattle . Blankets and light quilt could use a good cleaning pls. We checked in after hours, and got in easily enough. We were there for the Gold Coast Marathon. Would have been more convenient if we had 2 separate keys etc (but we didn’t get around to asking if available). Elevator needs work - with the doors sometimes opening and closing 4 or 5 times before going up. Parking garage was convenient . Did not see any Welcome Pack as per description in the paper given to us. No milk for the first night for example. There were some old packs of coffee and tea on the counter. Laundry machine looks new. Shower was fine and a little bottle of shampoo/conditioner was provided. We could hear other rooms from time to time but not noisy. I would like to see a better lock on the door aside from the simple door knob one. In fact, a staff member started walking in one day without knocking - which was improper. He didn’t knock but mumbled something about thinking we had not checked in (yet we had checked in the night before). I I think I read about that problem in another review below. Best a guest’s privacy and security is assured pls. Seemed very weird…no knocking and all. We had booked late for the Gold Coast marathon… not sure if we would book again… good for a quick average stay I suppose. There was a double bed, and 2 single beds and a small sofa. The 2 single beds are jammed in at the top of the stairs, in the room next to the bedroom. We stayed for 2 nights.

When my partner and I got into our room there was a distinct smell of faeces in the room as if someone literally used the toilet and then walked out so it was like the toilet wasn't cleaned at all. We would not have thought that normally but then we found a decent patch of black mold growing underneath the bathroom mirror which is not safe for anyone especially if they then touch their face without realizing there was mold on it.

The security screen door to our balcony was also not installed at all it was sitting outside on the balcony leaned against the wall which obviously reduced the security to our room and nearly fell on my partner when she went to look outside.

We didn't stay in our room too long after check in as we had an event to attend. Once back in the accommodation around 9:30pm -10pm, we noticed the sheet on top had stains on it which I can only describe as being stained from bodily fluids to put it politely.

After all of the above was discovered we decided that the quality of the room for the price we paid was not worth it and it had left my partner especially very anxious and nauseous about staying so we stayed the one night being the Friday night and checked out early before opening hours of the reception and left the keys in the early drop off box.

We ended up having to get other accommodation for the remainder of our stay on the gold coast which made our weekend a lot more expensive than what it should have been. As our weekend was very busy I tried to call the office to discuss this but I also thought that when our keys were discovered that morning after we left that someone would be in touch to see why we left or if we were coming back but no one called or emailed.

This has only left a very bad taste in our mouths so to speak after this experience in this particular accommodation and I'm not one to write a bad review on Google about an experience but I am seriously considering doing so. Going forward I expect a response to this via email as I will not be contactable via phone call, with an apology for the room conditions and the lack of professionalism shown when we left early and I am also expecting a refund for the accommodation as this was not to the standard that accommodation should be kept at.

This dump was absolutely filthy. Rude manager who walked out halfway through my partner and I complaining about the state of our room. ||Upon arrival no one was there to greet us. We were basically left to fend for ourself. ||The first thing that went wrong was my partner went to open our terrace screen door and it fell off its hinges. The second thing that happend was the managers son came into the room because we had called an after hours number, he into our room and then proceeded to ask my girlfriend's advice about fixing up the apartment and how he could improve the painting of the walls and roof. We then were shown the outside pool and spa area. We had a quick dip in the spa only to find that when we started the jets all this muck and gunk and leafy stuff came out of the jets and floated around us. We then returned to our rooms only to finally notice the filthy walls and the patch paint work, the massive, what look liked mould growing on the coffee table, there were tears in our lounge, big gaping tears on the rear back of it and a white sticky substance which we could not identify, uncovered and exposed tv wires , rust on our stove top which had been caked on, the terrace upon arrival was visited by who we can only think was "our neighbour".||To top it off we asked for some blankets as there were none provided on the only thing done right, the made bed and when we received our blankets they stunk and had obvious massive cigarette burn holes in them. ||The manager came who yelled at my partner telling her this isn't a 5 star resort and to go somewhere else. The manager also became physically intimidating and stood over my partner and spoke over her. My partner said she would call the police because she felt intimidated. The carpet was filthy. The cups were grimly, the coffee table had rubbish in the drawer which was not cleaned out. We had asked politely for an exchange of room , any , as long as it was clean and hygienic. ||I HIGHLY RECCOMEND NO ONE STAY HERE. IT IS UNHYGIENIC. THE LEVEL OF UNPROFESSIONALISM OF MANAGEMENT AND HER SON WAS A TOTAL NIGHYmtMARE OF A SITUATION. And to top it off I had a horrible experience with a guest staying in room 10. He was intoxicated and become an absolute pig quoting "I don't know if your a boy or a girl". I had , had enough and lost my calm cool collected self and let him have it. Beautiful location but such a wasted opportunity for the owner of the building. YOUR MANAGER AND "GROUNDS KEEPER" need to be fired immediately. They are ruining your business.
