I got the 400g local prawns and they were really wonderful. At $28 AUD it's a great deal too (at least I thought so, but I'm visiting from the US, lol).

Good friendly service and nice environs too. View of the beach.

What a let down.

Pros:
1) Great view
2) Friendly staff

Cons:
1) The website is very out of date - the menu on the website doesn't reflect the real menu, making it sound a lot more interesting than the basic dishes which are on the current menu in-store
2) Extremely slow service, even when it wasnt very busy (less than 10 patrons in the whole place). Coffee orders took 30+ minutes, and to place a food order we had to go and hunt down the wait staff ourselves after 30 minutes since nobody ever returned to the table to take the order. Food took a further 30 minutes to come out after ordering.
3) The food was disappointing. The burger was very bland and the patty was filled with fillers. The smoked salmon sandwich was gluggy and a bit of a weird taste, and was missing the side of chips it was supposed to come with (though this was corrected after we pointed it out to the waitress).

High tide by the beach
Lovely little cafe attached to the Peninsula Boutique Hotel Port Douglas. Just had coffee that was delicious. Great views of the beach and foreshore. Lovely staff. Hidden gem. Highly recommended

Beautiful location set across the road from 4 mile beach at The Port Douglas town end of the street. We had an amazing brunch of poached eggs on sourdough bread with crushed avocado and salmon. We would thoroughly recommend taking a short walk out of the main town to find this delightful restaurant. We couldn’t have finished our trip off any better.
