Four Seasons Hotel Sydney - The Rocks, New South Wales

Rates are very often sub £300 per night which is v low for 4S in a major city. However, that reflects the fact that the product is now looking very old and out of date. That basically means that you are getting JW Marriott/Renaissance standard, not 4S. Where does that show:|- standard rooms are quite small, especially the bathrooms|- there is just one restaurant which is windowless. It serves breakfast, and rather soulless overpriced dinner. This (or room service) is the only place you can use the Amex room credit (if you have that). Much better places to eat in Sydney. Even breakfast there feels miserable due to the lack of light.|- it is full of Americans on cruises, wearing leisurewear. It's not a sophisticated crowd.|- pool is uninspiring (and a bit short for lengths compared to other hotels in the area like the Langham). Gym is fine, but not amazing which they often are at newer 4S.|- the lobby is actually ugly. A coffee shop plonked in the middle, a restaurant without windows at the back, all wrapped up in mid-80s design.||However, what it does have 2 things which might make it a good choice for someone:|- perfect location (and therefore some great views)|- 4S beds which are like sleeping in a cloud. Almost worth it just for that.||I wouldn't be surprised if this isn't long for the brand. But may provide good value if you just need a room in a good location. Of course staff are well trained and do everything right, with charm.

This is the best place I’ve stayed at in Sydney. Staff were incredibly friendly and so helpful. Staff at the restaurant were also very warming and welcoming and the food was great. Room service is fantastic, cannot express how amazing the hotel staff are. Rooms are
Kept super clean and they came to check on us once or twice a night to see if we need anything. I’ve stayed at 6 other places in Sydney and this is the one place I will come back to.

When I think of luxury for an average couple, The Four Seasons is the most wonderful place we've ever had the pleasure of staying at.
The service was above and beyond topped off by valet parking.
We were fortunate to get a very large harbour view room to die for. We moved the king size bed over to the window to enjoy the views a little more and not miss a beat on the busy water way.
We have had the pleasure of two visits and will do so again, it's the best.

Absolutely superb in every aspect. The staff were incredibly kind, the food canapés and meal buffets were delicious. The room my family and I stayed in on Level 32 was huge and had fantastic views of Circular Quay/Sydney Bridge Area. The managers James and Lorenzo and Grace (i think they were managers) all made themselves known to us and were extremely friendly. Thank you so much for the amazing experience

Great hotel located in the heart of The Rocks and Circular Quay. It’s within walking distance of Sydney Harbour, the Harbour Bridge, the Opera House, and the Royal Botanic Garden.

The room was spotless and well-maintained throughout my stay. The staff were professional and very helpful, allowing me to check in early after a long flight.

I had a wonderful experience and will definitely choose the Four Seasons again the next time I’m in Sydney.

Every need catered for traveling with two babies. They thought of everything we might need and offered a room after checkout when our flight was delayed.|| Lounge 32 was amazing and the canapes were delicious. I often stay here. The hotel is very clean and the service is world class.

My husband booked us in here recently for our wedding anniversary and, as usual, the staff were fabulous! We stayed on the Executive floor and had access to the lounge, which was fantastic - great service and food! Our room was stunning, with beautiful views of the Harbour and the staff even decorated the room for us which was a lovely touch.

This stay reinforced our wonderful experience when we stayed here for my birthday earlier in the year.

This is probably the best hotel in Sydney. Staff seem genuinely pleased to help and look after you well: I've never been to a hotel that remembers my drink order at breakfast everyday, all staff remembering your name/preferences etc, and consistently provides all of the small touches that make a stay so great. My partner is vegan and they went out of their way to provide off-menu vegan food at breakfast, room service dining was well-priced and delicious, and our room was spacious, well-lit and worth every penny. We left with big smiles on our faces & we'll definitely be back.
