What we booked - a superior King apartment with, according to the website, ‘stunning ocean views towards K’gari’. |What we got - a view of trees, with little ocean to be seen. |On realising this I immediately went back to reception to speak to one of the owners, who had checked us in. The response? ‘They’ don’t like me cutting the trees down, so there’s nothing I can do. I showed him a picture of the stunning ocean view promised on the website, and explained that we had cancelled a booking elsewhere to come here. A shrug, and a repeat of the fact there’s nothing he can do. I asked if we could be moved. No, fully booked. Silence then ensued, with no apology or alternative solution forthcoming. Eventually I asked if anyone was leaving during our stay, and it transpired they were. He agreed to move us to a higher apartment for our last 2 nights. |I was quite upset by the whole situation, and wrote to his partner who I had corresponded with during the booking process. I explained that this trip (a month travelling up and down the east coast) had been a year in the planning for a special birthday, with a theme of ‘rooms with a view’. This was our longest stay, and given the website promises, due to be the highlight of the trip. To be faced with rows of trees with barely a sea view was such a disappointment, I asked if our money would be refunded if we left the following day. |It is generous to describe the reply as brusque. It said (and I am only summarising very slightly) Sorry you’re not happy, normal cancellation terms apply so no refund, and anyway you’ve been upgraded free of charge for 2 nights. So we stayed, made the best of it, and duly packed up all, our bags to move for the last 2 nights. The new room was what I had hoped for from the beginning, with beautiful views, and at least gave us some enjoyment before we left.|It is interesting that the original room (no 2) also features in a detailed recent review on Booking.com, complaining about the same issue. What is promised and delivered here are 2 completely different things.|Ultimately though, the thing with hospitality is that regardless of issues you might have, it’s the way those responsible leave you feeling. In this case it was abundantly clear that our year of planning the trip of a lifetime, the hundreds of dollars per night spent on a room that didn’t deliver on its promise, and our subsequent unhappiness, upset and disappointment were of no absolutely consequence to the owners of Rainbow Ocean Palms whatsoever.

Beautiful, spacious room in a great location!
The bed was super comfy & being able to fall asleep to the sound of the ocean was really relaxing. Would recommend to anyone looking to stay at Rainbow Beach

Me and my partner decided to last minute getaway over the weekend and I’m so glad we chose rainbow ocean palms resort it was perfect, amazing view, a quiet and relaxing place would 100% come back
Staff were amazing when I call and booked in nice and friendly and very helpful didn’t get his name but thank you
The room was perfect, so clean and refreshing 👌

Beautiful apartment !! So clean and the views were absolutely beautiful.. bed was comfy and the bathroom clean and very modern. Great pool and location.. will definitely be back

We were surprised by the size of the apartment ( very large) and how well equipped it was. We were in apartment 10 which was accessible via lift from the basement car park. It was very large and you could easily cook anything given the equipment.|As it's up a very steep hill, most people drive up/ down to the town. I imagine itd be quite a tough walk up in the heat as its very steep in places. However, this enables the views from the apartment & balcony which were excellent and also looked down onto the small pool.|We used the electric bbq a couple of nights aswell as cooking in the kitchen.|Rainbow Beach is small but has lots of cafés for mornings/lunch. |Ocean Palms was ideal for a more relaxing stay.

Property is going through a major renovation. Extreme noise levels, constant drilling and hammering. Impossible to have peace. Manager is totally aware of the situation and mentioned it right after checking us in. She told us " it sould stop soon". If they knew what the conditions were they should have either let the guests know prior booking or close bookings off entirely, which they actually should have done. Banging and drilling, carrying materials up in the lift, cutting panels and plaster boards in the carpark area with noise and dust coming out right next to our apartment and the pool.. It was just a terrible experience. We have two little kids and one came down with a fever so didn't have a chance to look for another place but under any other circumstances, wouldn't have stayed there. I've also spoken to the trades and they told me the work will continue for a very long time. They were working throughout the days, right until late afternoon, even on Saturday. That's not how you treat your guests! Please do not respond with words trying to soften the issue down etc. The condition your building is in is not suitable for guests. You yourself would not have liked to be treated the same if you were the guests and you know it. Just accept it and close bookings off until noise stops. It's not fair for travellers.

Absolutely stunning apartments in rainbow beach. It was probably one of the best accommodations I have ever booked for a holiday, two spacious rooms, each with its own bathroom, a large livingroom with smart tv, nicely equipped kitchen and the shared swimming pool.
We loved our stay and our apartment, only thing to mention is that the walk there with the luggages under the sun was terrible, I checked google maps and it is not very far from the town centre, but obviously that wasn’t mentioning the altitude, so keep in mind the apartments are on a hill, so book yourself a taxi for when you arrive.
Another plus is that it is super close to a huge sand dune where you can watch the sunset from.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rainbow Ocean Palms Resort April 2022. Very clean and spacious apartment with breathtaking views. The amenities were fantastic and so close to the bars, restaurants, cafes and beautiful beaches. Only a short drive/taxi down. Not that far to walk to access the most amazing beaches and views just a steep walk back up the hill however it is doable. A beautiful spot to stay as a couple or with family and friends. We will definitely be staying next time we visit beautiful Rainbow Beach.
