What Stu has done to this place in honour of his mate Kev is very heart warming. Stu made us feel so welcome and accommodated to all of our needs. A big clean pub with plenty of heart, cold beers & great food. Footy on the big screen and very friendly service. Stu went out of his way to keep the kids entertained. The campground out the back is very well maintained & felt very safe, nice grassy sites with power and water if needed. The amenities were also a pleasant surprise, very nice & clean. We are so glad we stopped on our way up and back from the cape and would strongly recommend everyone else does the same. You won’t regret supporting these guys.

Stayed here a night on our way through. Tidy and spacious free form camping ground with potable water. A new toilet block which was in great condition and clean. The publican is friendly and helpful and they do a great pub feed. We stayed on a Friday night and they also had the footy on the big screen, which my son enjoyed haha. Would definitely recommend to stay here as you pass through.

Stayed here for 1 night one the way up to the tip and again for 1 night on the way back down. Great pub with a beautiful beer garden out the back and plenty of space to camp. We had dinner at the pub both nights and the food was amazing. Brand new toilet/shower block. Dog friendly. Stu the owner is a legend

Reopened, fabulous and thriving. Stu has done a lovely job of the place in honour of his good friend. We stayed here on the way up and back to the tip. Highly recommend stopping in supporting small business.

What a gem to find in FNQ!!! We stayed on the way North and South and highly recommend the place. Spacious camp grounds with both powered and un-powered sites. The amenities block nearest the pub is rustic but the other amenities block has been refurbished and is very good👍. We had dinner there on the way south as we got in later than we anticipated, the meals were great and delivered to our tables quickly. The locals are fun to have a chat with and the bar staff are very friendly. If I ever head this way again I will definitely stop in and would highly recommend The Peninsula Hotel to everyone travelling these roads.

A great place to camp. Clean ammenities and a wonderful grassed camping site. The meals were fantastic and the beer was cold. |We were heading north from here to the Tip. |Stu has a secure caravan parking area for a small nightly fee. Certainly saves taking the van on the dirt roads.|We can highly recommend.

We didn't think much of Laura when we drove in but as soon as I set foot in the pub I knew we're going to have a good time.|The new owner told us the story about how he recently took over from his mate that was killed by a croc.|In a short time he done up the place and it looks fabulous. |The bar area and the campground are in great shape. Even the amenities are renovated, nice and clean.|We had a delicious meal and everyone was chatty and friendly. |The night sky was awesome and we felt very safe and had a good night sleep.|Definitely recommend to stay there😃👍
