This place is SO unique, magical & special! We stayed three nights and really enjoyed the peace and nature we could experience there. AND Hamish and Isabella were very great hosts, who did everything to make us feel at home - which we certainly did. Thank you for having us at your wonderful Lodge and we very highly recommend! 🫢🏻

We wanted to escape somewhere quiet for two days and found it in Mungumby Lodge. No TV, internet or phone contact and we found it refreshing. Nature has altered the path to the waterfall, but the bush walk is still worth it. With other guests arriving late and departing early, it felt like we owned the place for two days. Thank you very much Isabella. See you again soon.

We had an incredible stay at Mungumby Lodge on our tip back from Cape York to Gold Coast. Hamish and Isabella were so compassionate and helpful and we are truly grateful for their hospitality. Hamish and Isabella were so friendly, knowledgeable and truly create such a great atmosphere at Mungumby - you can see their pride for the lodge in all they do.

The rooms were extremely clean and well made up and the cabin was so beautiful. The bathroom was pristine and the water pressure in the shower was incredible!!

We didn’t do any of the walks but they looked beautiful and the nature and views were breathtaking!

We really loved our stay at Mungumby hosted by Isabella and Hamish. Quiet, lush, green oasis, fantastic pool for the kids, nature walks on the property, own private waterfall, simple breakfast with all the necessities, comfortable cabins and 7 mins drive from the Lions Den pub. We cooked a couple of meals in the BBQ area and enjoyed the sun lounges in the afternoon. No internet was fabulous, teens and child enjoyed it all. We hope to be back one day! Thank you

This place is amazing and perfect for a relaxed yet fulfilling retreat type stay. The eco cabins are well purposed and very comfortable. The relaxed nature and professionalism of the owners really tops off the atmosphere. We enjoyed bush-walks and swimming in the river pools, hiking to the waterfalls and experiencing nature first hand. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay of 3 nights and have already started making plans for a return visit, highly recommend Mungumby lodge.

Off the beaten track. Get close to nature. Go for a walk and see the awesome power of nature that happened during Cyclone Jasper. The owners are very accommodating.
At this point you will need a 4wd to get there, due to the washouts.
No mobile phone coverage, limited Wifi. But do you really need it?
Certainly recommend staying there, especially if you are into bushwalking/hiking.

Stayed for 4 nights. Loved the lodge. It is in a beautiful natural setting. The hosts were most welcoming and helpful. The rooms are well designed wooden cottages. The communal Homestead area is a lovely relaxing space where a great breakfast is served and can also be used at any other time. It also has a microwave and a nearby bbq area. All utensils and crockery etc provided. The local pub is not to he missed. If returning from Cooktown at night have to drive very slowly and carefully. There is so much wildlife on the road including many frogs. A lovely spot to just chill or enjoy the local walks or drive to further afield to see rock art and so on. Would love to return.

Fabulous location amongst the rain forest. Our log cabin was just perfect and the communal areas had everything you needed. The walk to the waterfall was a bit hard (we’re in our 60’s) but well worth the effort. Thank you for the wonderful stay Isabella and Hamish.
