Sadly did not check previous reviews and paid for it literally. Left soon after getting to the room, and forfeited $150 for the booking. Do not recommend at all, it is rundown, outdated and dirty. I’ve stayed in some dumps before but this is high up there.

Do not stay here. Usually happy to give a bad exterior the benefit of the doubt and hoped the rooms were updated - or at least like the pictures. It was no better in the rooms. The Wotif pictures are not accurate. Additionally the stairs are not safe for children at all and there is no elevator - although you’d be risking your life using it if they had one.

My partner stayed there late last year. It was hilariously bad. Even at the time all we could do was laugh at how unfortunate it was. We even considered sleeping in our car but we paid a decent amount of money, I think over $200 for one night. I mean we should have noticed the signs....literally the sign for the place says it all ?. The walls were VERY thin, the balcony door couldn't lock and was broken and I spent the whole night going between laughing at how bad it was and being terrified someone would break in, which has clearly happened before. The whole place was rundown, even the lock box where we needed to put the keys when we checked out was broken. It all felt very post apocalyptic

I wouldn't recommend staying there unless you were filming some kind of crime movie or it was pouring with rain, every bridge was flooded and you had no other choice.

The room had no door on toilet ! Smashed mirror, blood on curtains, electrical wiring exposed, dirty outdoor tiles on floor ,dirty pool ,front door of hotel left open all night long, shower a dribble!
Basicly sleeping on street would be cleaner! Youv been warned!

DO NOT COME HERE. Absolutely disgusting place. What a waste as the location is perfect. Junkies everywhere not safe at all. Cops arrested someone at 2am. Horrible bathrooms yuk. Holes in the walls. Never again. Dirty pool etc. Needed an extra mattress and they made us take it up the stairs. Even their laundry was disgusting. Yuk

I wish I had read the reviews before I booked! Pictures speak for themselves here, nothing like the website, such a waste of a nice location. I suggest you spend money fixing your plumbing and lighting, and post accurate photos of the room.

I cannot give this place any stars at all. We pulled up and saw broken furniture and some leftover air conditioners. The reception smelt so bad we didn’t even make it to the rooms before we cancelled out bookings. We ended up at the Pullman. Don’t waste your time. We’ve had so many laughs about how dodgy this place is after a 9 hour drive. Looks like a halfway house after people get out of jail ?

Booked this based on location & price. Hubby read the reviews & said it didn't sound great. I like to give things a chance & was only 1 night. We arrived and were greeted by Julie. She was pleasant. Our family room 212 was spacious, facing the car park.Kettle, toaster, microwave & WIFI worked, TV looked decent gave up trying to watch anything on it, and used our laptop & phones.Bathroom was fair, mattresses were fine, you get what you pay for, it's a 2 star motel not luxury end. We just needed a bed and shower for the night & we got it.Pool was nice, kids had a ball, we left early in the AM.We drove down the block and realised the bad reviews are for the EL LAGO Water Resort, which is the tourist park & that looks shady not for the EL LAGO Water Motel we stayed at.Cheers

DO NOT DO IT, l was referred to el Lago for t/a ( temporary accommodation ) by the housing department as I have recently fallen into homelessness, I had received 7 nights stay which I was very thankful for and checked in with a man named Tyson which stated he was sick as a dog and did everything he could to provide me with an aircon remote control which was nice. To say it was a nightmare would be a understatement, I’ve witnessed little plastic bags of the drug ice be transacted between the unit below me to a customer off the street and this went on many many times, i witnessed a bag of the drug ice on the steps leading up to my room then copped an ear lashing all night long of rough sex leading into a domestic dispute which lasted from about 8-8:30 until about 4 in the morning and I actually heard a jet lighter clicking as the man next door sucks down on a ice pipe right next to my head. Walls are paper thin here and NO JOKE my bed was pushed up to a door that lead to the next room (the ice room) which had been kicked in very recently as evidence by the wood chips still on the ground. The balcony sliding door was not able to be locked and we had massive safety concerns when my mother witnessed two seperate females jumping over other peoples balconies late into the night ( thieves ). The bathroom door didn’t exist neither did the toilet door which was awkward for me a 30 yr old male and my mum a 60 yr old woman. Privacy concerns +. While I was staying there I seen two police cars pull out and one ambulance pull out also and come to find someone on my floor died so I was told anyway. My mum tried to walk her dogs at night as we couldn’t sleep a wink and she nearly got mugged next to the dumpster but by the grace of god the man was called off by some random person in the vicinity. If you want ice junkies screaming at all hours of the night and your car to be at major risk of break in please by all means stay here but if your a human being then just dont risk your life like I had to. I would rather sleep in my car under a bridge in the dodgy part of town it would be safer to sleep on the streets. Disgusting
