Blue Lagoon Resort is a solid resort out in the beauty of Trinity Beach. Just 20 minutes from Cairns, it offers an escape from the city, but remains within a driveable distance from many different areas such as Hartley's, Port Douglas, Cairns, and the plethora of beaches in the surrounding area. The rooms are clean, spacious and have a fully stocked kitchenette that you can use to cook a full meal. The bed was a King sized bed, though was really just two twin mattresses out together which made a somewhat uncomfortable crease in the middle but not a huge deal. They provided two small bars of soap, moisturizer, and two small bottles of Shampoo which were sufficient for our stay. There was even a laundry machine in unit with provided detergent which was incredibly helpful. The staff at the front were lovely and helpful. There is a heated pool which was also great to dip into after a hot day. There was also a lap pool and a non heated pool which I didn't get a chance to venture to. There was a tennis court that I also didn't get to explore.

If I were to suggest nay improvements, I wish they didn't charge for pool towel hire, and provided some tissue paper in the room.

Overall a lovely stay and would consider returning should I come back to the area.

My daughter booked 2 ground floor rooms to be together months ago and also requested that they were to be accessible for a power chair. Arrived, rooms in two separate buildings neither on ground floor. Told they were accessible by lift. Power chair up to 3rd floor via a small ramp over the bottom step and very small lift. Not ideal if there is an evacuation and the lift is unusable. Husband did not feel safe.
Went to reception to voice (I talk loudly when angry) my displeasure at the change in our booking that was not acceptable and it seems boss lady was displeased with my attitude for not being happy with an upgrade (because it had a washer and dryer) to a third floor room in a separate building when we had specifically requested 2 ground floor rooms together. Apparently I was ungrateful and had no right to show my displeasure as it seems they can change your booking at will to suit their purpose, without notifying you. We were apparently lucky we had not been put in some other building that was even less accessible.
Daughters room was in a block that had no step at the bottom and only up 1 level which would have been at least a little more accessible and if there was an evacuation issue and we had been together, as requested, they could have helped my husband down to safety.
Came back down stairs to go for dinner and luckily walked in front of the power chair only to find the ramp had been removed from the bottom step and husband would have gone over step in the chair. Had to get him out of chair and down step then lift the chair down the step. Daughter rang the after hours number to ask where the ramp was and was told that they never said it was wheel chair friendly and the ramp was for the cleaners trolley. They did say they would get it put back but on dinner return there was no ramp. Ramp re appeared the next morning for the day but again on our check out the following morning we came down to no ramp in place.
Free Wifi was almost non existent and very slow if you could manage to connect. Even though you pay a daily rate the rooms are not serviced, you are required to remove all your rubbish, wash dishes and clean floors before check out or a further $50 fee will be charged. More suited to be an Air BNB than Resort as they are individually owned units that the owners can over ride your booking.
Not recommended for anyone with accessibility issues. Some blocks have no lift and up to 4 levels of stairs.

We booked a self contained apartment for 2 weeks, great for what we were looking for and central to everything we wanted to do, they only change the towels and sheets after a week, but we asked for more towels and they gladly gave them to us, we also had our own washing machine and dryer in our room so able to wash our own. Great place to stay. The birds are noisy at night but we got used to them.

This place is more in the nature of an Airbnb property. It’s advertised as “self-catering”, which is property-speak for, “You do the cleaning, you wash the dishes, you put the rubbish out - oh, and we won’t change the sheets unless you’re staying for 7 nights or more.” It’s in a great location, close to the beach, the tavern, a bus stop and a convenience store (there’s a larger, horribly expensive Night Owl a 15-minute walk back up Trinity Beach Road). Blocks 1 and 2 overlook one of the two lovely pools - and each other, so there’s absolutely no privacy on the balconies. Weirdly, the pool shaded by blocks 1 and 2 is unheated while the one in the full sun is heated. Go figure! The apartment we were allocated was adequate and nicely presented, but we could hear EVERYTHING said and done in the adjoining apartment. Be aware that the WiFi is sporadic. The woman at reception was extremely friendly and helpful at check-in (although she doesn’t like to be interrupted during her spiel), but the minute we had a problem her demeanour changed. Pool towels are $2.50 a pop for the duration of your stay. When I queried that, because I’d never come across it before, she declared, “I won’t argue the toss over $5.” Well, why impose such a silly charge in the first place? Trinity Beach is lovely, but we won’t be staying here again.

Wifi was non existent and I mean totally did not work. Advertised as free wifi but not available and when queried an excuse re the area. While I know Trinity Beach is not ideal for internet connection there are fixes but it would appear Blue Lagoon doesn’t want to invest in these. I’d imagine if the office had no connection then they’d do something.
If they expect customers to wash dishes, empty rubbish and generally uphold their standard then I expect to get what I paid for.
Accommodation was okay, clean and spacious. Pool was great, gardens well kept.
But it in 2024 I expect a working wifi and internet.

The apartment was spotless and perfect for our needs. Large bed with a small table and chairs. Had a fully equipped kitchen area with enough to make meals. The towels and bedding were changed weekly. Enough supplies were left and then purchased our own, as we extended our stay. The view from the balcony was brilliant. The pool area was perfect with enough sun loungers and bbqs with tools to use. Trinity beach was only a short walk and a cafe and restaurants right on your door step.

No one makes bed or replenishes towels. We had to live there for almost a week with dirty towels. That was the most disappointing part of our stay. Otherwise it is good. It is opposite to a shopping complex with 2 beautiful restaurants and a cafe. There were also a good hairdresser. A few minutes walk to the beach. Nice lagoon nearby

We were upgraded to a two room delux apartment on the third level overlooking the lagoon when we arrived. We loved our two balconies. My wife especially loved the balcony attached to the main bedroom, which she found was very private for reading. There was a huge living area to make ourselves comfortable. The main bedroom featured a king sized bed and had it's own TV. The only downside was the lack of a lift to bring our luggage up to the apartment. The staff were friendly and helped out when I'd forgotten to bring my phone charging cable to Cairns. The location is ideal. You're not on the beach, but you overlook a beautiful lagoon on the sheltered side of Trinity Beach. We went for walks around the lagoon. We absolutely loved our trip to Trinity Beach and look forward to doing it again next winter.
