For the price I paid, I am very happy. I booked a family room and it is HUGE. It has. Master bedroom and also two twin beds. It also has a full kitchen, a big balcony, two full bathrooms, washer and dryer. Make it such a wonderful room for a family. Inside the hotel there is a nice pool. Also, Palm cove is just beautiful. The only drawback is I did not rent a car and Uber can be difficult to get during peak hours.

Nice enough resort but very tired, needs paint and a good scrub. While waiting for the 2nd floor lift you look out on a dead plant planter and very dirty area, green all over the glass windows , not a good look.Our room was extra tired, the couch was worn out and needed replacing along with the outdoor furniture, it was hard and very uncomfortable. In need of paint and updating. The tiled floor needed a good scrub. Definitely not worth the daily rate we paid to stay there. Sorry for the bad review but that is how we saw it . Nice pool area.

Great location, but very substandard rooms (paying for 5 star but accomm barely 2 star). Prior to our stay we phoned twice to confirm a walk in shower would be in the room and it was advised that yes there was. Despite these assurances, we found a shower over a bath. Condition in bathroom was dark, a big brown stain in bottom of bath, and the exhaust fan did not work. Also a couple of big cockroaches greeted us on arrival in the bathroom…
The lounge area was ok although the lounge itself had absolutely no support when trying to sit in it, so we spent our time watching tv on the dining room chairs. The lounge also had stains on it and looked like it needed a good clean.
The bedroom was very small with no drawers at all for putting away folded clothing. Small queen size bed..not at all comfortable.

Reception staff were great, no complaints at all re the service they provided. Swimming pool area is fantastic also…..

We wouldn’t recommend to friends nor would we stay again, which is a pity as the accommodation is in a perfect location.

I stayed at the Drift Palm Cove recently, October 2024. I stayed in a two bedroom apartment, number 4304. The location, like most hotels in Palm Cove is great, right on the beach and close to a supermarket, pub and other stores. The kitchen was also clean and well equipped. The washer and dryer were handy.

However, I was disappointed with the standard of the room. The sofa was ripped and dirty and we had to cover it with a sheet to sit on it. There was lots of wear and tear on the furniture, walls and carpet. The bathroom door had a hole in it. The beds were horribly uncomfortable and I woke up with a backache. We asked for a cot and they quoted us $100 for 5 nights, the cot they gave us was dirty ripped and broken.

The pool is very inviting but always cold so we only swam in the spa.

Overall, I would not recommend staying here.

We loved this resort! Lovely gardens offering privacy, we were on ground floor. Clean and well designed apartment. Garden views. The giant palms and Melaleuca trees around the pool were divine. Offered plenty of shade, bit of an older resort but oh so charming. We loved it, coffee round the corner, mini mart over the road. Beachfront. Quiet, lots of families travelling and international visitors. We stayed in a 2br apartment,

Great location. Dreadful experience. I had just come from a three-month visit to Shenzhen where I found the hospitality to be of an extremely high standard. The experience at Drift made me feel ashamed of my own Nation. How standards have slipped! Reception – when someone was available at reception – was largely UNFRIENDLY, UNWELCOMING and lacking in KNOWLEDGE. No information was provided in the apartment as to restaurants or tourism destinations. One is expected to pluck pamphlets off a wall. NO HELP is provided with luggage. Thankfully, there is a lift in this building. The apartment – a two-bedder – was really a one-bedder – the second bed having been crammed into a tiny space. Goodness knows how the two-bedroom apartments were approved as two-bedders!!! The apartment was not clean and it was NOISY; noise from chairs being scrapped across the floor overhead and loud noise from the adjoining balcony. The paint in the corridors resembles that of corridors in a hospital and the carpet is very badly stained from breakages in water pipes. Chlorine smell from the pool is unpleasant. MIGUELS – a separately operated restaurant at the front is EXCELLENT and NUMIS ice cream – also at the front – is delicious. DRIFT is being operated on the basis of a pseudo residential-holiday apartment mix. As I understand it, the levies and management fees are extremely high. In my opinion, the owners need to get in there and solve the problems as the value of their assets is being seriously eroded. I received approval for a late check-out. Due to slow drying of an item of clothing in the dryer and an international call, I ran a little over time. Apologizing to my caller, I answered a very loud banging on the door to be greeted by a rude and abusive housekeeper who insisted I speak to reception on a mobile phone she handed to me. Of course, I complied and explained my problem. Before I could finish the conversation, the mobile was snatched back. 'This is my phone.' Why housekeepers are using their own phones to solve issues is beyond my comprehension. Training of staff is essential so the guest is not left shaking in the doorway after what is supposed to be a relaxing visit and logging the memory: I NEVER WANT TO COME BACK. |PALM COVE is a pretty place but the stay at Drift was a truly unhappy experience. |Dr. JANNE CLARA LINDRUM

Brilliant location. Noise from rooms above is an issue. You can hear every chair that moves like it's right beside you. Seems to be all the time, woke my kids up frequently. Reception is frequently unmanned.
