Fantastic free camp area.

Great clean and tidy parks.

No public showers.

Close to toilets. main street is within walking distance, easy access to shop's and all your family needs.

Childers is a fantastic place to visit, if U enjoy historical landmarks. food, music, fashion and genuine, down to earth hospitality.

They were kind enough to let me camp if you don't have a camper van.

You can park around the block, it's off the main street. Toilets are basic. Fine facilities. If you have your own food I recommend apple tree creek rest area on the north of childers it's much nicer but no shops.

Love going to well set up RV stops like this. BUT it’s supposed to be for fully self contained rigs not roof top tents or those sleeping in their cars. But hang on….if you look a little closer at these poor kids sleeping in these tents on cars they are probably back packer seasonal workers or fruit pickers. Most don’t speak a lot of English. They are doing what they can to experience our country and work the jobs our useless refuse to do. Most are gone by 730am and will respect your requests if you ask nicely. (I dont appreciate them smoking right next to my van vent). I just wish they could be better looked after by the council who could mow a paddock add a few toilets and a tap for them. My husband watched one of the kids washing his dishes in the sink in the men’s public toilets. That’s not right. If I go back I’ll be doing more to share what I can to help these young sons and daughters of European families. Bc I would appreciate it if someone could do the same if my kids were back packing over there. Hope others in their 100k plus rigs could offer the hand of support in some way too.

Always a great stop over. Gets busy in the height of the dry season. Has a dump point, potable water and an EV charging station. Public toilets close by and it's one street back from the min street. Easy access and mostly drive through spots. Great coffee shops, Woolworths & IGA, pubs. Old Pharmacy museum is interesting and the Backpackers memorial is a must see.
