I had a great stay at Farmgates! The staff at the office were incredibly friendly and helpful, always ready to assist with any questions or recommendations. The Facilities were good. Overall, a very welcoming atmosphere and a great place to be!

88 days done. I was having a very hard time finding consistent and solid farmwork before coming here and farmgate was a life saver. They are very proficient in the way they handle everything. Solid connections with the farmers of the area, plenty of work hours, work pays by TFN on time and payslips provided every week.
Mel and Brittany are great and they make a big effort to find you work everytime. And the people that you meet here is amazing too. I’ve got only words of gratitude towards Farmgate.

I think staff were reasonable, fair & accommodating. Asking $150 upfront was a shock at first but considering the utilities supplied to the tents and how long you could stay there it was reasonable. However, If it was not up to my circumstances I would not have stayed there due to the cliqueness of long term backpackers.

5 female toilets/showers, 10 male toilets/showers, around 150 people, you do the math… they find you work which is good, but still overpriced for what you get on the campsite/cabin. You can get lucky with your work or not… Powered sites are a joke! Apart from that, when you’re very desperate it’s an okay place to start!

We spent a month at Farmgate and it was a nice experience. We got a job immediately and the staff are super friendly! Well organized. You don’t need a car, transport to work is available and woolis is only a five minute walk away. We wanted to change job and a day after we told them we got another job, thank you for that!
Free laundry and hot showers are a big big plus. The camping area is a bit overpriced as it costs the same amount of money wether you are sleeping in your own car or in a provided tent with actual beds in it, but it’s still okay and reasonable for everything we got there.
Good place to make or finish your 88 days.
Big thank you especially to Mel and Bill and the cleaning staff!

Never ever go to this place if you are a backpacker, it is a prison U cant go anywhere and they treat you like an animal. Worst place to ever go.

We stayed 2 and a half months with my boyfriend at farmgate, and it's the perfect place to validate his farm days.
We had a job the day after we arrived, on a good farm and with plenty of hours.
It's a great place to meet people and make the farm experience enjoyable.
What's more, the farmgate team (Bill, Melissa and Brittany) is always attentive and accommodating.
We would definitely recommend this working hostel.
