For the short time we were in Eco Lodge we really enjoyed it. The backpackers living there are all very nice and it is really easy to make friends.
We had work everyday while we were staying in Eco Lodge.
Definitely a better experience than hostel.
If you’re a couple you might have to share your room with another couple when it’s busy season if the tents are unavailable. That’s the only inconvenient.

Dry toilets, shower that stops after 5 minutes. The kitchen and rooms are dirty. 3 pots and 3 pans for 60 people. Hammocks and chairs broken, never replace. I paid $160 for a lawn pitch to sleep in my roof tent on my 4x4. Wifi never would. Establishment to flee !

Myself and my girlfriend did the entirety of our 88 days here and had an amazing experience. Rhys and Vanessa are very fair and honest when it comes to work, if they tell you that you can start when you arrive and will have work for 3 months, you can trust them.
When we had car troubles and got stuck in Bundaberg Rhys got us back home.

Jeanie and Roxy who keep the eco lodge clean for us are incredibly nice and a joy to be around.

There is a designated party area away from where people sleep where you have to move to after 9pm which everyone respects and you can be guaranteed to get a good night sleep when you have work next day.

Overall, I honestly don't think there is
a better working hostel in all of Australia, and I would recommend it to everyone!

I had the best time ever at the ecolodge! I got work straight away and good hours, if I didn’t get my hours it was because of weather conditions and nothing to do with the hostel. The hostel itself was amaizing, lots of spaces to socialise and close enough to the town (need a car or have to carshare). I ended staying longer than needed 🙂

I've stayed in Childers Eco-Lodge for almost 4 months and can really recommend it to anyone.
When i first arrived I was surprised by how welcoming and friendly everyone was. Normally when you arrive in hostels everyone has their established groups and it's hard to fit in as a new person, but here I felt welcome the first minute.
The vibe is just really good and there's always something going on, alot of nature, ducks and chickens running around everywhere and of course the beloved hostel dog Mango.
Another important thing is that they provide you work before you arrive, so once you are there you can start working immediately.
But one of the main reasons I enjoyed my stay so much was Jeannie - the soul of Eco-Lodge.
She's so kindhearted and was always there if you had any issues and at the same time keeps everything clean and tidy.
It was an amazing stay with amazing people that I won't forgot anytime soon!
Lots of love 🫶

I spent three months in the lodge during the avocado season. I loved the place! The facilities were good- including the gym, the chilled hammocks space, the party areas and the dorms. What really made the difference here were the people! A special mention to Jeanie, the hostel gem! She made the place feel homely and showed a caring attitude to all that entered the hostel. I’ve loved all of our chats together and on the hard farm-work days she’d always put a smile on my face!

What a place. I spent 2.5 months at the lodge during my 88 days. It was a really lovely place to call home during that time. The facilities are good. Multiple showers, and a gym on site. The kitchen could be bigger for the number of backpackers but this also made for such a homely bussely feel in the evenings and on the weekends. I was lucky to have met some amazing people, one of which was the caretaker, Jeanie. She was a true legend and so caring to us all. She is the heart and soul of the lodge!!
