NYC Bagel Deli - Chermside, Queensland

NYC Bagel Deli at Chermside doesn’t look like much at first - a busy spot in a shopping centre’s dining precinct, all hustle and noise. But the crowd doesn’t lie, so I ordered a coffee, a croissant, and the Club Bagel: smoked chicken, bacon, tomato, aioli, Swiss cheese, and rocket.

The coffee was solid - smooth, easy-drinking, nothing to write home about but a good companion to the rest of the meal. The croissant? Buttery, flaky, comforting. But the bagel - that’s where they hit their stride. A satisfyingly chewy bite, with a filling that’s rich, salty, and sharp in all the right places. At $17, it’s more of a treat than a habit, but it delivers enough to quiet that voice in your head asking if it’s worth it.

Service was brisk and cheerful, a well-drilled operation in perpetual motion. The atmosphere kind of depends on where you sit. The venue is a bit disrupted by its neighbour. Outside, the Kingpin Arcade across the way blares with endless bleeps and noise, which might make it tough for some to fully enjoy their coffee and food. It’s hard to savor a bite when it feels like you're dining in a pinball machine. Inside, it’s less of a problem.

The bagel was average, but I appreciated the variety of vegan and vegetarian options. The coffee was decent enough. Overall, a good spot for a quick bite.

Had a lovely little lunch here by myself whilst shopping at Westfield. Cute little cafe serving up a nice range of bagels with great vegetarian and vegan option too. I had the club bagel which was simply fresh and delicious! I felt they were a good serving size and worth the money. I dined inside and it was clean with friendly staff and service.

Yummy Vegan option! The $12 Vegan Bagel comes with avocado, tomato, cucumber, sun dried tomato, balsamic glaze and rocket! There’s a big selection of bagel buns to choose from & I was told that all are vegan (except for the gluten free one).
I struggled in the 2 food courts to find something I felt like eating & this was perfect! It was super fresh and flavourful with generous amounts of fillings. It was delicious, we ended up going back so my partner could get one too! Super cute, independent/trendy cafe vibes as well! (We got takeaway but the cafe was full of people eating in).
Only downsides are that there’s only 1 vegan option on the menu (so happy it was a great one)! Staff were lovely too 🥰

Used to come here before they moved. The bagels themselves are nice, although feel smaller than they once were. The amount of fillings have reduced.

I came here twice since April. The first two times, although the fillings were less than quite a few year back, they were still quite nice.

Today however, the fillings had reduced further. I had a pulled pork and parts of the top and bottom piece of the bagel touched. (Meaning the minimal fillings barley separated the top of the bagel from the bottom).

It was quite disappointing, as these are usually tasty and much more generous than this.

I hope that this isn't the precedence.

I work in the centre so I come here often but because it’s so good my partner and I still come here on our days off. Staff are wonderful, prices are reasonable the only thing I would love to see is a couple more vegan options but asides from that I love this place

The good news is that this cafe offers fresh bagels and Clean Skin coffee. ( see seperate Clean Skin review, if you wish).

The quality of bagels have been consistent.
Staff are friendly and but not exceptional.

Be sure to ask for extra hot coffee if you prefer your coffee to be very hot as the staff have been trained to make coffee at a slightly lower temperature. (Same at Clean Skin in Brendale.)

Cafe is clean and presentable. Limited outdoor seating and inside feels a bit cramped, but still fresh and cosy in appearance.

Expect to pay about $18 per head for bagel and coffee.

Not usually too much of a waiting time for food and bagels are delicious and fresh!

Can’t quite put my finger on what is missing - it’s just not ‘wow’ enough to get 5 stars for me.

Delicious. I usually get the smoked salmon bagel but the chicken, brie and cranberry is also really tasty. Fresh and filling, though messy to eat. Drinks are also good. The iced matcha is authentic, being bitter rather than sweet. Staff are always friendly and helpful.
