Have stayed here 5 times. The convenience of the location is what got us here. As it is exactly half way for us.
But the service and quality of the room kept us coming back.
Linda goes above and beyond to ensure the rooms are clean and very comfortable.
Now the bypass is open we need to keep places like this open! I won’t stay anywhere else. Thanks again for a beautiful stay.

Lyn the owner at reception was incredibly attentive and helpfull. Room was as clean as we have experienced anywhere. Booking was so simple with no deposit being demanded. Just a fantastic no bother place to stop over and an added bonus of no trucks passing by at night now that the Gympie bypass is open. Great job Mary River Motel, you are a winner, keep it up.

Read all the reviews and have to agree, the lady at reception is incredibly helpful and so welcoming, actually makes a great impression. We arrived tired and exhausted and she couldn’t do enough to make sure our room was suitable. I’m not a real fan of the beds, I like a soft bed but they are very firm, I got used to it though. Great disability rooms, perfect and totally accessible. Would stay again, too easy.

Travelling through with work.
Owner was nice, however asked if I had any children, I said yes, one. I was asked if they were under 8, I said no, but asked why, to be told that children under 8 are not allowed to stay, owner mentioned that she maybe increasing this to 12 years of age, no reason besides the fact she doesn’t like children staying because they whine/whinge. Yet there are units that back onto the motel, where on arrival a lady was losing her mind, yelling, screaming, swearing. Best to avoid if you have children travelling with you.
Room smelled musky/damp, features mildy outdated. Bed was comfortable.
There is a minibar available.
Heard some traffic noise throughout the night, but with new bypass open wasn’t too noticeable.
Would recommend to couples/solo travellers, but not to those travelling with children.

Rang to make an enquiry on room availability and price for a social club event I am organising in Gympie, the lady was quite rude stating she didn't do group bookings because everyone would want to use the BBQ and the insurance would be too much. I explained i was merely seeking out accommodation to list on the social clubs news letter so members could choose their own motel. She then left the phone on the desk while she went to sort to other business returning a minute later sternly asking what date do I need. Her manner was very abrasive and she asked would there be kids. I asked if this was how she always treated customers as her service is terrible, she said that's how it is!
Plenty of other great motels in Gympie unfortunately she just missed out on my business and many others,

I have never experienced such rude service from the old lady at this motel. We rung and booked our room and requested early check-in, which was approved. Upon arrival, we called as no one was in reception. The old lady who could see us, answered the phone with "what are you doing here your a bit early mate" in a rude tone. From here the rudeness just got worse. My partner ended up saying "we can leave if you like", to which the old lady then became more abrupt and rude. We received our refund and left to stay at room motels, where the service could not have been better. Never ever will we recommend this place.

The room we had was one back from the Bruce Highway and we found it quite noisy. This was fixed by running the aircon all night and closing the windows. The room was clean but hadn't been opened for a while so it was quite smelly until we aired it. Staff at reception were really friendly and made us feel very welcome. This motel is one of the most modern in town and is located on the northern outskirts of town.

Such great old fashioned service. The restaurant is permanently closed but room service available. Ordered when we booked in . The meals are amazing, no frozen microwave meals. Cooked from scratch and well worth the wait.
The room was clean and smelt fresh. All the amenities needed were provided. Air conditioning worked well and free WiFi, also Netflix what more could you want. A great place to stay overnight as we broke the journey from Aratula to Yeppoon
