I’d be ashamed to serve up the meals they gave my husband and I. My husband’s schnitzel was over cooked to dark brown and dry. The menu said gravy was included but none came so when we asked for it the girl wanted to charge us additional. My fish was terrible. Dry rock hard batter with very little fish inside. The chips for both meals were cold. We asked for fresh ones so they gave us one serve to share. The prices were more expensive than we usually pay at an RSL and I have never been charged more at any other RSL for not being a member. Oh and the salad was a joke. We will never return. Shame because the girl on the front desk as you entered the building as lovely. The food however was the worst I have ever had at any RSL in Australia.

STAY AWAY they don’t understand what a steak SANDWICH is. Served me a steak sandwich i couldn’t even fit my mouth around IN A ROLL!
I just wanted bread to make a sandwich. That’s is what i ordered 🤷🏼‍♀️ a sandwich.

ALSO C-salad comes with AIOLI sauce not C-dressing.

Honestly whoever made the new menu should have NEVER been aloud to touch it.
You cater to a lot of low income, elderly, vets and disabled people. changing safe foods to what is against stated is WRONG!

Never ordering food from here again 🙄

Atleast 90% of the staff are very friendly and they have good entertainment.

Pretty disappointing. As a visitor to Townsville I would not recommend. We chose an RSL specifically for a roast meal. Asked for a roast of the day with chips and vegetables for my friend and a pizza for myself. We didn't complain when chips and salad came out because we feel uncomfortable complaining about food. We get roast meals out quite often and this one was very disappointing. While eating I get my notification from the bank and I notice I am charged more than I expected. It's just a few $$$ per meal but get the menu to double check. Now I know clubs usually offer members discounts but this menu was just priced for members and apparently visitors are just charged more. No price for visitors and one for members like most normal clubs.
I feel like visitors are not welcome.
My pizza was huge. It should have been advertised as for two. Way too much for one person so I asked for a takeaway box which pretty much everyone who orders would need. I was handed 2 plastic containers and left to man handle half a pizza into them with my hands. The same guy who took my order bought the containers out so I mentioned the salad and he apologized and said he was unsure why it came out wrong but asked if I wanted to speak to a manager. Well the 20 minuite online conflict resolution course this "manager" did was obviously a waste of time. No sincere apology or even understanding of why I was upset. Just excuse after excuse 😔

Lovely food. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very accommodating for functions. You can take a cake. They cut it for you. The blooming teas are amazing and pretty. High teas are worth the money.

I have not visited the establishment since before the floods, when the gaming machines were relocated upstairs. There are numerous pokie machines and a significant number of players. Staff members are rarely seen unless one goes to the bar, and they are not as friendly as those at other clubs, although they do offer a smile.
The quality of the food and the size of the servings are both considered average.

Omg what a day, we visited this year on Anzac day and the place was pumping. The 2up in one section was as amazing sight and the sound was out of this world. The food was great and the staff were very friendly and helpful even though they were under the pump with the large crowds.

Such an honour to receive this 3rd place trophy at the RSL Show n Shine today. Always a good day, but this made it very special. In honour of veterans mental health week... great day 🙂 in stoked!

Brought the family here for dinner. Food was good, but cost quite a bit more than you would expect from an RSL bistro.
