Had dinner tonight with our friends. Surprised we had to pre-order our dishes before coming for dinner. I liked 2 out of the 8 dishes served, the rest were just average. The Thai Milk Tea had half of its strength, could have put more love. There wasn't enough heat in most of the dishes, I have had better Thai food elsewhere in Brisbane.

What a gem! I love Thai food and have dined in various Thai restaurants, but the dishes we had here were totally unique and blew our minds! They were all delicious and beautifully presented. The taste, atmosphere, and service were all 5/5. It is so rare to find a restaurant that offers both outstanding meals and service, and I’m glad that I found one. We will definitely be back!

This marked our second visit to Chalong, and once again, we were eager to relish the exquisite Phuket-style dishes that have made this place so special. We ordered an array of mouthwatering dishes, starting with the Moo Hong - a tender, soy-braised pork belly that melted in our mouths, perfectly complemented by fragrant herbs and crispy shallots, all paired with a zesty green nam jim. The highlight of the evening was Chalong's beloved Fried Whole Fish, beautifully presented and drizzled with a sweet fish sauce, accompanied by a vibrant Asian salad, crunchy fried garlic, and a kick of crispy chilli. We also savoured a rich Red Curry featuring succulent duck, along with an assortment of vegetables like snake beans, pumpkin, eggplant, and okra, all enhanced with sweet pineapple, crispy taro, and fragrant Thai basil. The Southern Herbs Fritters, with their delightful mix of flavours and a hint of fermented chilli and cashew nut, provided a perfect contrast to the vibrant dishes. The Yaowaraj Noodles, lightly charred and tossed with eggs, kalian, and garlic chives, were a comforting addition to our spread. Every dish was accompanied by fluffy steamed rice and fragrant coconut rice, creating a harmonious balance of flavours. Dessert was Black Sticky Rice with Coconut Sorbet, topped with caramelised coconut and a drizzle of salted coconut cream, with a touch of Thai honeycomb that made it simply irresistible. Again we greeted warmly by the service staff and could not fault the impeccable service.

I had another fantastic visit to Chalong last night! The southern Thai yellow curry and crispy chicken with cashew nuts were perfectly cooked, and the homemade coconut ice cream was a delightful end to my meal. The owner, Nail, and all the lovely staff were incredibly sweet, humble, and professional. I highly recommend this wonderful spot to everyone. 10/10! ❤️

Incredible food! We had the braised pork belly and also the barramundi in yellow curry. Both dishes had so much flavour and so enjoyable to eat.
Service was incredible too, very fast and very friendly.
It was a great experience overall, and I highly recommend.
Gets very busy!
