One of the best curries I have ever had. It is different to the recurring curries you get everywhere. It is a traditional Nepalese Curry and it will have you coming back again and again to eat it. Watch out it’s a special at the moment but it’s going to have a permanent place on the menu. Well done chef Mani and team 21 Doon. Anyway don’t take my word for it, get down to 21 Doon Restaurant and taste it for yourself!

I've been coming to this restaurant for the past few years, and it has definitely changed recently. I don’t think I will be coming back until things improve. It’s not a problem with the service or food, but I have noticed a few things, such as the absence of music in the restaurant. Now, you can hear multiple conversations going on around you. I would really like the music to be brought back, as it was one of the things I enjoyed most about dining here.

Another thing I noticed while I was dining in was the manager speaking poorly to another customer and her staff. I was quite shocked by the tone used towards them. The whole environment of the place has changed, it now feels more like a mining camp than a nice restaurant.

Update 20 Jan 2025: I was really looking forward to visiting again but it was so disappointing. I have never in my recent recollection sent food back but I had to in this case, the thin, burnt-on-the outside-raw-on-the inside $39 scotch fillet was gross, full of tendons so tough a steak knife wouldn't cut through it. The vegetables were a mix of soggy interior/burnt exterior as well as some vegetables so crunchy they appeared to have been merely waved over the steam from the pot. Don't get me wrong, I like barely cooked vegetables but the contrast was jarring and I don't like food that is blackened/charred regardless of anything else. Bunnings sausages and bread are better cooked. I sent it back, hoping it was just a one-off, but the response was amateurish and lame. The staff member asked if I would like to order something else, so in the interest of being fair, I replied that any steak and accompanying meal would be fine as long as it wasn't like that. He refused to accept this, even though I was persistent, saying he would not decide because it "would be on me if it wasn't to my liking". This is a big FAIL to have graciously given the establishment a chance to fix the problem and correct an impression, only to be met with this kind of absurd response. Educate your staff please. .. I just left and got a Subway sandwich...the staff member actually asked if I wanted a refund!! Often I find that consistency is essential to a good dining experience but this is not it...BTW, I worked in hospitality for 10 years and I know how hard it is. I never would have treated a customer this way.

My old review:
A nice change from what is usually available in rural towns. Bright and clean with a simple menu to suit work and travel. I've eaten here a few times while travelling through or staying in town and food has always been good. They do get quite busy but if you're there early enough food service is quick too.

I have been here a couple of times and they do serve great food but I wasn’t feeling well today so tried to call them to ask if they do takeaway, but even before I get a chance to tell them anything on the phone, the lady on the phone said she’ll get back to me in a minute. No one answered for 5 minutes so I cut off the phone and decided to call them back.
To my surprise they blocked my number and can’t call them anymore.
