Upon arriving at the café, we noticed that most of the tables and chairs were stacked to the side, creating an unwelcoming atmosphere. After being seated, we were not offered the customary water service, which set the tone for the rest of our experience.

I ordered the "London" meal, which included a steak requested medium-rare. However, the steak was significantly overcooked, tough, and ultimately inedible. I politely informed our server, asking them to relay the issue to the chef. Unfortunately, rather than addressing the concern professionally, the chef responded by confronting a new staff member in a dismissive and aggressive manner, insisting the steak had been cooked correctly and refusing to acknowledge the issue.

The situation escalated as the chef continued to reprimand the staff member loudly enough for us to hear from the dining area. We sat there for approximately 10–15 minutes while this continued, yet the chef refused to come out and assess the dish herself. At that point, I informed the staff member that we preferred to leave, as the environment had become increasingly uncomfortable. I also took a moment to apologize to the young employee, as it was clear he should not have been subjected to such treatment over the chef’s mistake.

Jason, the manager (to my understanding), stepped in and handled the situation as best as he could. After consulting with his superior, we were offered a 50% discount on the meal. We accepted, paid, and left.

I am sharing this review to inform others about our experience. A chef openly reprimanding a staff member within earshot of customers is highly unprofessional, and the lack of accountability for improperly prepared food is concerning. I hope management takes steps to ensure a more professional and respectful dining environment moving forward.

Sadly, they don't know how to make coffee.... speically iced longblack...
Staff just pured some coffee shot which was from fridge, and put ice into the cup and pured water. She didn't even mix it and gave to me....
Front female staff was very nice and friendly.
I wouldnt go back there for coffee..

The food was brilliant, with plenty of options. The menu is massive, and it's a credit to the staff for knowing and learning the ins and outs (Gordon Ramsay would have kittens over the size of the menu)
There's plenty of top quality condiments on the table. The coffee was on point. Will return if I'm in the area again. The only downside is they were quite busy, so the tables were dirty and not being cleaned quickly enough for the next customer.

My 80+ yo guest and I went here for a late lunch after a family event. She had a massive plate of ribs wit modest ribs; and I had a avo smash wit salmon that looked like it came out of an 80s kitchen and I was almost waiting to be told to eat it out the back and keep out from underfoot. The avo and salmon portions were petite and the toasted bread was generous. Unfortunately due to the meager toppings, they couldn’t cut through the toasted bread enough, so that the meal was quite dry. Next time… try your own dishes so you know when your toppings and base are too dry. There’s potential here but they need to pay a bit more attention. I don’t recommend the smash, and the ribs were good but again… modest compared to the salad and chips. That was massive!

Quaint little cafe, first cafe I have been to with a drive thru in Australia. Had the club sandwich, which was very nice. Came with a side of fries which definitely made me feel like I got value for money. Coffee was good, too. Service was fast and staff were friendly. Only four stars in atmosphere because while it had good vibes, there definitely wasn't anything to write home about.
