We recently visited the Gold Coast Sports Precinct, and unfortunately, it was not a pleasant experience. As someone visiting with a pram and a partner in a wheelchair, accessibility was a major issue. The lifts are located outside, which means if it rains, you’re left completely exposed. Both our pram and the wheelchair got soaked, which made the experience very uncomfortable. It felt like accessibility wasn’t given enough consideration in the planning of the facility.

The pathways and overall layout also didn’t seem very wheelchair-friendly. Maneuvering around was frustrating, and there were several spots where it was clear that more thought should have been given to people with mobility needs. Additionally, accessing the higher levels, such as Level 2 to view the basketball courts, was impossible without a keycard. This made the visit even more limiting and inconvenient for those relying on accessibility measures.

For a modern public space, we expected better. It’s disappointing that such a well-known venue lacks basic infrastructure to cater to all visitors equally. This experience highlights how much more effort is needed from the government to ensure spaces are inclusive and accessible. I wouldn’t recommend this venue for anyone with mobility challenges. Hopefully, improvements will be made in the future because right now, it’s just not good enough.

This is an amazing sports complex that caters well to visiting teams. My child was involved in a recent basketball tournament and it was conducted in a very smooth and efficient manner. The amenities were clean and plentiful and the in house cafe made simple but great meals for the times between games. There was ample car parking and it was in an easy to get to suburb near major roads.

Hot day at a sports stadium... the water fountains don't work! Lucky they will sell you water from the cafe ey.
Also watched some young basketballers practicing before a game, only to have some woman in authority take away the hoops/nets to stop them playing. They weren't doing anything wrong or interrupting anyone else, but she had the power to ake it away so she did.

The Razzle Explorer

Fantastic staff. 10/10 they really should be thanked by the council as I was there as first aid and their support and assistance was amazing and enabled me to complete all first aid injuries with ease.
Another area is the staff who assist with keeping the areas clean and safe. They are friendly, helpful and very accommodating. All your staff make this stadium a brilliant facility to run any sporting event.

Is a gorgeous stadium. Plenty of toilets & food stalls. Seats are comfortable. Across the road is the Blue Car Park for cars that have a disability sticker. Need to book on line, cost $25. Is always sold out. The Sun's are lucky to have such a lovely oval to play their home matches.
