Top central location. Rooms are great for the rate. Staff are super friendly. Free wifi for those who are part of the rewards program.
The hotel bar is quaint but perfectly suitable for a few refreshing beers after work.
I'm not a fan of the pillows offered but it is a minor issue.
Probably best suited for the business traveller and may not be the best option for families.

Had a really enjoyable stay in March. We had just moved to Townsville and were waiting for our furniture to arrive.

The reception staff were friendly and efficient. We received a room upgrade and the view over Townsville was splendid. The rooms were relatively modern and comfortable.

Breakfast was OK - but the best coffee is around the corner at Coffee Dominion.

Turned up to the hotel to find our booking had been stuffed up (due to central reservation, not actual staff at holiday inn Townsville) but Kayla at front reception was fantastic at rectifying everything. We had a wonderful two days!! Staff are fantastic at going above and beyond. I commend you all. Keep up the fantastic work. We'll be back!!

Very friendly, helpful staff. Stayed here for a week. Rooms very clean and well prepared. A great central location with Sunday market at the front door. Evening dining meals were fantastic (slow cooked lamb shank with wild rice and Queensland salad, delicious).

It's in a great location. The higher levels have balconies. Comfortable beds & pillow selection. Roof top pool is nice. Bathrooms are a bit small & dark.

1. Airconditioning, lighting, carpet, all terrible. Phone and lights broke, was told twice engineer would be sent to fix them and no one ever showed up in my 5 day stay.

2. Quoted verbally $98.00/night at check in and charged $159.00 +$12.50 parking/night. I didn't sign anything upon check in verifying rates or notified of the parking fee. Management would do NOTHING to make the dispute or difference in rates right.
They could have done something simple like wave the parking fee and I would have felt like..."ok we had a misunderstanding but they tried to make it right".

3. I stay at IHG hotels over 100 nights a year and this one takes the cake on terrible performance and customer service!

Just ducked in for a coffee at their little coffee shop - wonderful! Delicious coffee, and had a muffin which was the best muffin I've had in a long time. Good value, great taste, what more could you want!?

Slow service, even though there was only 4 other tables to serve.
Staff unsure about anything on the menu. Average meals and overpriced. Wasn't that happy with service, food or atmosphere.

Limited choices for gluten free diet.
