We were very excited to check out Ardo as we had been to the restaurants within this hotel, and were so impressed with the quality of the food and the 5 star service we received. We decided to book a night here for a special occasion. Our room was massive, both the bathroom and bedroom area were so spacious and luxurious. We really enjoyed every moment. We ordered coffee through the iPad that was provided in the room and it turned up right on time to the minute. The balcony was also massive, with a huge stone tub on it so we enjoyed this late at night looking out at the ocean. Such a peaceful modern experience with all the bells and whistles. You would not need to leave your room as they either have or can bring you anything you need. One thing I need to say is, the entire hotel has the most alluring scent as you walk through the reception and also through the hallways of the floor we were on. Thanks so much for having us, we will be back!

Beyond disappointed this ‘5 star’ hotel refused to let us use the pool after we checked out even though our flight wasn’t until late evening. Then they told us to use the pool in the Ville who refused to bring out the cushions for the cabanas because of a trickle of rain. I’ve never experienced this in any other 5 star establishment, you’d think they would put effort into having a positive guest experience so they come back.

Loved staying here, the hotel was so classy and the views from our balcony and the roof top pool were amazing. The Japanese restaurant was a regular go to and we were walking distance to other great eating spots. Shared facilities with neighbouring hotel was a bonus. One of the best hotels I have stayed at!

Spent a night at Ardo, overall the facilities are aesthetically impressive however the amenities leave a bit to be desired. We stayed on the 7th Floor and the hot water pressure was non-existent. When the shower mixer was turned the whole way to 'hot', the water became a dribble. It was not possible to have a hot shower. Additionally, there is zero phone service within the rooms. You need to step out onto the balcony for your phone to work.

We ordered breakfast to our room the morning of check-out and it was awful. I ordered a simple bacon and eggs - the bacon was burnt and the toast was soggy. My partner ordered pancakes and they crumbled to the point you needed a spoon to eat them.

Overall, you would expect a lot more for the amount of money charged to stay here.

Came to celebrate a birthday. I chose a great room. Check-in was very fast. The staff were very friendly. There is a Japanese restaurant on the first floor. It tastes good. The room has a great sea view. You can watch the sunrise in the morning It is really romantic. I also like the swimming pool! But it would be better if it could be bigger. The BAR on the top floor can see Castle Hill. The hotel is connected to the casino, so you can also go to the casino. It is really very convenient. If you come to Townsville, I highly recommend this hotel. It is really a good experience.

The hotel is stylish and super clean. But the service at the reception was not good. We asked for a room more upstairs but the said nothing free. This was not true a lot of rooms have been free. We asked for a silent room but at the harbour view rooms are not silent. Always trash trucks in the morning and anything of a motor was always running. The pictures are good and the advertisements of the hotel shows a lot of good pictures but more shining. The prices are extraordinary high for ? I don’t know. The receptionists are not really interested in the wishes of the guests.

Don’t waste your money. I booked a room during their ‘birthday sale’ thank god I didn’t pay full price for this ‘luxury’ hotel. The rooms are average at best even for FNQLD. Tiny room, no space for luggage, crinkled linen, cardboard coat hangers, NO water provided in the room and there’s no room in the fridge to fill up the water jug via the bathroom tap to cool it down, lovely to lay in bed looking up a concrete ceiling (see picture). The guest pool has a nice view but it’s tiny. Be prepared to be served a $25 cocktail at the bar in a plastic glass (luxury…tacky) and $17 for chips. They don’t allocate any tables at the restaurants for hotel guests. You’re better off spending $260 per night with on a stunning waterfront Airbnb with secure parking instead. I won’t be back.

Had to cancel a room due to floods in Townsville. The gentleman on phone 1/2/25 was so polite and understanding. Even though I booked through booking .com he explained the process of obtaining a free cancellation. Definitely will re book at this venue agsin
