Not really a place for visitors judging by the lack of staff to help direct you or welcome you, you basically have to figure out what to do on your own. Order online only and impose the card surcharge despite not giving you an option to pay cash. Order drinks via the app and they don't get delivered apparently. But no idea what happens and why you bother ordering online if they don't come to the table. Turns out it didn't even print at the bar. Dirty table for well over half hour. Food gets lost and sent to wrong tables, definitely could have some big improvements since its in a pretty good location. Rotten lettuce in the salad.
Rooms are bottom of the barrel, sunken beds, pubes on bed, used shampoo and conditioner in the shower, wet door frame at bathroom upon entry to the room, toilet looked as though it had been used and not cleaned, window partially open with no protection on it, was expecting old, not feral. Has aircon, and fan, though.

We always have a good meal here. 4 Sunday roasts cost $68, and drinks were extra. Met some Townsville friends for a catch-up,as we are from Mackay. Meals were huge and came out quickly. We will be back next time we are in Townsville.

The hotel itself is a bit old, so I wasn't expecting much. However, the service was great, the staff was helpful and lovely, the room was clean, the sheets were soft and I slept like a baby for a fair price. 5/5.

We really liked the location and the staff was super friendly, but this place could use some rennovation. Rooms definitely need some update - the carpet had holes and burns, and the wall needed painting. It was also pretty loud at night, lots of people sitting outside our room, playing music and talking. Definitely not worth staying here for the price you pay!

We were very disappointed with this booking. The suite didn’t match nor the description nor photos at all. We were supposed to have fully equipped kitchen and the only things we had were kettle and fridge. And obviously we thought we will be able to cook ourselves so we bought some food for our dinner that we had to chuck out this morning because we weren’t able to cook it and we had to hit the road early morning and we don’t have a fridge in the car to keep the food fresh!
Not only we didn’t have a kitchen the suite itself was just disgusting and old! Gaps between the wall and AC, AC was dripping with rust on the walls. We had no access to couple of the balconies because they were screwed closed with a metal plates. No lock and no HANDLE on the balcony doors. So we couldn’t even lock the doors! And the walls were completely dirty in there.
There were sheets screwed down to the wall covering some holes or something. Cabinetry where was the fridge the bottom was completely rotten! Big paint patches on the seiling and walls in different colors. One of the balcony doors were covered with some sort of plastic wrap and looked very bad! There was even a whole in one of the bedroom doors.
The beds on one of the bedrooms were blocking the access to the big closet.

Nothing like in the pictures! We had completely different suite! When we went to sort it out at the reception they told us that everything else is booked and we can’t get the suite we actually booked! Even tho we booked it very long time ago! We asked for a refund but the only way for us to get it would be if we move out which we obviously couldn’t do as there was not time for us to look for another place to stay! And it would cost us lots of money because it would be last minute!
And honestly this hotel should be shut down until renovations!

Dirty rooms. When we moved in the old soap stuck in the middle of the shower. Stains everywhere. Rust. Airconditioning was never serviced: cannot see the grill over dust. Noisy. The location is good. Stayed in room No 2

The receptionist Carole gets a 10/5 for her service. She was great.

The rooms were good size, but quite dated and needs some good TLC. Not enough (for me) to complain about considering the price.

If you're just passing through and need one night stay it would be fine.

Location of this place is awesome! Short walk to the beach and The Strand and so many food places right outside the door, we ate in both nights of our stay there though as the food was amazing ?. Hubby reckons hands down best chicken schnitty he’s ever had - proper chicken crumbed and cooked to perfection! A coles shopping complex is literally across the road, along with other essentials (bottle shop/chemist/butcher/bakery etc). All the staff are extremely helpful and kind especially the cleaning lady who was super helpful! We stayed in the family suite and it was very spacious and even had our own little courtyard. Only downside was some cleaning stuff was missed but no biggy. Rooms are a little run down but honestly for the price and location I’m not complaining. And the pool was closed during our stay. We had a toaster, microwave, kettle and full size fridge in our Suite which was super handy. The whole place just has such a great vibe about it and would definitely stay again 🙂
