I was so horrified with my experience I had on Thursday.

On Wednesday I had come in the morning - the owner was not there - and bought a coffee and the chicken pesto sandwich.

As I went to eat the sandwich on my break, I noticed the chicken looked really purple and couldn’t see any white, cooked looking pieces. I was too late to go over to the cafe to talk to them so I kept the sandwich and didn’t eat anymore and went to speak with them the next morning. I took photos and videos to show what I believed looked like raw chicken, all of the chicken was purple and raw looking. I felt sick the rest of the afternoon. I was unable to address this concern as they had already closed for the day as my lunch was 1:30pm. I had only eaten half of one half of the sandwich when I noticed.

I came in calming to speak with the owner Thursday morning and began to explain the situation, and immediately she cut me off and said, “no! It’s not raw chicken, I’m not giving you a refund.” I had asked for a refund as the chicken was so purple and raw looking and I had felt sick all afternoon. The sandwich was the food I had bought for the day as my lunch and as I thought it was unsafe to eat I hadn’t been able to eat anything all day.

I calming continued to say “I’m sorry but it’s raw chicken, it’s purple, there are no white bits, I couldn’t eat that.”

She banged her fist on the bench saying “It’s not raw chicken I am not giving you a refund!” And started sighing rudely at me. She then began to ignore me and serve the other customers. I felt all I could do was leave as I needed to get to work and I didn’t want to get upset.

She had also offered to show me the frozen chicken that they use for the sandwiches, I still did not feel any reassurance in seeing the bag as the chicken truly looked awful and was horrible to eat.

I truly feel due to the service I could not go back here, the owner was so unprofessional and began to attract the attention of other customers by raising her voice and banging her fist on the bench, I couldn’t be more disappointed and truly believe for the experience I had, a refund should have been more than acceptable. The experience I had for coming in was truly horrible, I should hope that the owner would do better.

Really disappointed with this cafe. When it first reopened under the new ownership, it was great. I’ve now edited my 5 star review to reflect the service and quality of food.
We’ve now had 2 negative experiences here.
Today we ordered breakfast, and after waiting 45 mins from ordering, it came out cold.
I don’t understand how bacon and eggs can be cold when served? When questioning the staff about it, they explained they had only just cooked the food. I find it hard to believe when all 4 of us who ordered food, had cold food on the plate. The food had to have been waiting on the bench for a long time before being served to us.

We also had to wait 40 minutes for our coffees to come out. Mind you takeaway coffees were being served before ours.for $55 for two, this felt like a rip off.
We won’t be back. Extremely disappointed as we love supporting local, but this is a let down.

Service was good but flat white disappointing. For $4.90 for a small coffee I would expect a decent barista made coffee. This was very hot untextured milk with foam on top. Looks like they’re sourcing beans from a local roaster, maybe the cafe could source some training from the roasters in coffee making…

Nothing special, but okay if you're looking for a bite to eat. The large coffee is absolutely huge, just a shame it's not the nicest tasting coffee. Way too much dukkah on the avocado and eggs. Staff seem friendly. Smoothie tasted artificial, despite having real blueberries in it.

Lovely little spot with well priced options. Found it was just a bit too much food for me so I would say great value. Very generous with the dukkha and avo, maybe could pull it back a bit 😉
Coffee was great and there was a decent line for it when we came. Good fast service with lovely and friendly staff. Highly recommend!

This is a cafe not a restaurant. Went looking for a Greek lunch but only options were sandwiches and salads. Unfortunately food was not the greatest. But coffee was good.
