This place is an absolute gem perched atop the hill overlooking the lake and ocean. Bev the manager is a top notch communicator and nothing was a problem for her. Couldn’t recommend this place any more

We stayed in apartment 3 at Hydra Apartments. The view was fantastic from the front windows, lower floor balcony and upstairs bedroom. The décor was lovely and amenities were great. Good water pressure. It looked like everything had been newly renovated. Check in was very easy and we were greeted with a lovely friendly smile. Would definitely love to stay here again. The only reason the overall rating wasn't excellent is because you have to take your own sheets and towels or pay a fee to hire them.

This property is near the top of a reasonably steep hill. This means you will either need a vehicle or be fit enough to climb the hill while carrying your luggage. The benefit is that it affords some good views. The property is not new but our apartment (#4) was perfectly clean and quite comfortable. Bev, the manager, is an excellent communicator. Overall, a great place to stay to enjoy Merimbula.

Our family of 4 stayed recently. The unit we stayed at was fair and definitely could do with a revamp. We had to pay $15 per person for use of towels and linen which I thought was overpriced. Karen, the manager there was so lovely and welcoming. Nothing was too much trouble.

We were only due to stay in Merimbula for one night on our journey back to Sydney but ended up staying for three because we loved it so much. Hydra Units were like a home away from home, with a relaxed informal atmosphere and a very friendly manager on site. ||The apartment itself wasn't the most pristine, but it was perfectly clean so we didn't find this an issue. With two bedrooms upstairs and a big living area on the ground floor it was very spacious and could easily accommodate a family. Certain things were missing like soap, some linen (provided at a fee) and odd bits in the kitchen, though we felt the price was still reasonable even once incorporating the linen fee. ||The manager on site was a little inefficient but in the nicest possible way and was at the same time extremely friendly which made it feel like a home away from home. The location is perfect with an amazing view over the water and just a 5 minute walk into the town centre. We would definitely stay here again!

Booked 3 nights over a week before travelling, recieved a phone call as we were leaving home to say our room was double booked. Manager said she had only just received our booking from booking.com, even though I had we had messaged each other about linen supplies several days before. This was very poor management and caused us a great deal of concern trying to organise alternative accommodation that afternoon

Nice place for couples and not more than 3 people. Small accommodation yet homely. Cleanliness to the utmost. You don't need to bring towels and sheets. However bring milk and coffee because what they provide is too little. Parking is small and congested. Within close proximity to the main market.

These units are quite old and are showing age in some respects. However some effort has been made with refurbishment which rescues the situation - new curtains and carpets(>) and a fresh lick of paint. The is no air con in the bedrooms.||||Checking in is by arrangement and bed linen/towels have to be preordered at $15 pp.||||The lady in charge did everything possible to help us feel welcome.||||The view is good and the hotel at the bottom of the road is highly recommended.
