Disappointing Experience - Would Not Recommend for Families with Young Kids

We booked a week-long stay over New Year's but ended up leaving a day early. Unfortunately, this place is not well-maintained, and there was a clear lack of management to enforce rules. We were staying with young children, and the constant presence of motorized scooters and bikes zooming by at high speeds was concerning. What's even more alarming is that not a single rider was wearing a helmet.

While I understand it's New Year's and people want to have fun, the noise levels were unbearable. The campsite repeatedly cranked up the music until 1-2 AM, and despite there being clear "quiet hours" in place, there was no one to address this. I had to go to the campers at 1 AM myself to ask them to turn the music down. That’s something the campground management should have handled.

Given that the campsite advertises quiet time starting at 10 PM, I expected more oversight. Unfortunately, this place felt more like a "free-for-all," with no one to enforce rules, especially for families with young children. I wouldn’t recommend this location for anyone staying with kids.

Amazing been coming to Lanis for almost 20 years. Each visit feels like a reunion with old friends, as the familiar faces and warm smiles greet me at the door. The atmosphere is always buzzing with laughter and good times. Over the years, I've created countless memories here, from celebratory dinners to quiet moments of reflection. It's a place that has truly become a second home, holding a special place in my heart.

Pet friendly Villa was exactly as described, was clean and had everything we needed so suited our needs perfectly. Reception staff was courteous, we stayed midweek out of holiday season so park was pleasantly quiet, is close to shopping center for anything you need.
Unfortunately, Tonys Point Island is closed due to asbestos contamination, but it didn't inconvenience us, as with many coastal parks there is midges this time of year we just covered up or used repellent from dust till dawn when sitting outdoors.
Overall was nice place to stay when travelling with pets

* good location with lots of shade & closer to the town, but unfortunately no beach. You have to drive out /or walk through the camping side on the main busy road to find coastal walking pathway to the town.
Suggestion: a coded (camp) gates to access existing beautiful walking track leading to town
* good services. I bit deteriorated old camping site. Unfortunately, nothing to rent regarding activities for adults (kids can rent small cars).
Suggestion:
- water pipes are shooting water as no nozzles on the pipes (thank you Matt! for organising one for us @ a camping site)
- availability/opportunity to rent a bycicle, boat/ kayak/ boards... and head off to cycling, fishing (or kayaking to town) from camping site.
* good staff, especially Matt (the gardener and handyman): never fake kind (which is a breeze 4 me) and helpful.
* great camping spot: we were lucky as we had many opportunities to choose (before school holidays). Had our own direct drinking water access nearby & a bin & clean toilets (thank you Matt ?

We booked an ensuite site and couldn't ask for anything better. Great spot with water views. The perfect set up for our caravan. Cement slab to the ensuite door, clean shower, toilet, and vanity with sink - lockable door allows you to keep your belongings safe and makes for a very handy weekly stay. We are return patrons to Lanis and have tried almost every site booking possible from cabins, to the powered sites, and even stayed out on the island. We love it every time.

We arrived after hours and despite speaking to them via email and phone several times can you imagine our dismay to find we had no bed linen or towels and forget the shower gel, apparently if you read the obscure fine print they do tell you but not in anything we received, you can get these as an added extra but that's no help if you arrive after hours. That predicament was solved by a quick trip to Kmart at 8am next morning because we also had to buy pillows because the 2 we got on our bed were useless

Recently stayed in one of the family cabins, due to attending a weekend sporting event.
Upon arrival it's evident that the location is ideal, we had a water front cabin,..
Once inside our cabin we noticed a large amount of black hair, all over the floor throughout the entire cabin.
Whilst making my sons bed, I unfold the additional blanket provided, and again, the whole blanket, both sides covered in black hair..
Thinking it was only the 1 blanket, I grabbed another from the other bunk bed, only to find that too covered with black hair, i unfolded every single blanket provided, and all were covered in black hair...Thankfully we brought our own bedding as we always do..
The bathroom, while it was clean, every single towel, had black hair in it, the bathroom floor, black hair all over it.
As we were only there for 2 nights, we gritted our teeth and beared with it.. But please please please, have your staff carefully checked the linen before providing it to the cabins. it's not pleasant knowing you are sleeping in someone else's DNA.
We are booked to stay there again in the coming weeks, so please thoroughly check linen you are providing, because I will very closely..

We were towing a campertrailer on our way south, but due to the rain we decided instead on a cabin for an overnight stay. The cottage was budget (which is what we wanted) and all we needed but we were super impressed with the service of the lady at the front counter on arrival and upon leaving. She greeted us with a smile, was helpful, attentive and interested. Great Old fashioned customer service.
A great location too. We shall be back for a longer stay in the camper trailer in future!
