Very dissapointing considering all of the reviews I've read that state how wonderful this place is. The room was quite cold when we arrived, the bathroom window ( only window) was stuck wide open. After much effort I managed to get it partly closed and also discovered the mould infested blinds at the same time. The ceiling fan was thick with dust as were the wall decorations. The 2 dogs in the room labled "private" barked nonstop for the first 2 hours that we were there. Part way through the night I began to smell an odor in the room ... Not sure what it was but it was quite strong. The walls between rooms are very thin, we could hear clearly the conversation of the couple next door. The pool was dirty and there was no mention nor sight of any breakfast?

On the bright side - the bed was comfy and the room has modern flooring. Bathroom is modern.

pretty Balinese interior room. spacious inside. Dog friendly.
haven't tried breakfast as we left early.
clean, the bed and pillows are comfortable, have a fan and aircon.
We were using the side door as our main entrance as more accessible. However you need to be careful of the steps, so you don't miss your steps.
Checking-in we were sent a text message of instructions, we arrived late, and the property was not well lit and no signage like a AirBNB property. We got confused about the location and instructions.
Neighbours came late and were very noisy at past midnight and we were already asleep and woke us up. Our dog being a security dog in nature, was barking with the unfamiliar noises. So the walls, and interconnecting rooms are not very well sound proofed, that was the biggest disappointment.

Serena is a kind, generous and happy host; the breakfast was the best we'd had on our week long trip. The room was clean, very comfortable, quiet and thoughtfully decorated. Communication for check-in was efficient making the process easy.
My dogs enjoyed the easy walk around the block before continuing our road trip.
We very much recommend Tantarra and would happily stay again.

I stayed three nights with my cavalier King Charles spaniel and couldn’t be more pleased and comfy. The layout and size of the room was very convenient and homely. The breakfasts were lovely .
I will definately be back.

My hubby, myself and my two floofs were so fortunate to stay here on our way up to Queensland from Victoria. The room was exceptionally clean, spacious, and beautifully styled. The location is wonderfully close to the Esplanade and a bunch of great restaurants. Thanks guys! We hope to visit again in future, hopefully for a longer stay!

Location is great, quiet, clean, comfy , great breakfast. |I spent two nights in "The Room".|The only negative was it had no windows and no natural lighting. If you suffer from claustrophobia I do not recommend this room. There's another room that does have natural lighting.

What a great place to stay. Truly dog friendly, our dog loved that he could be with us 24/7 and was included in our holiday. The bed was comfy, room was fabulous, roomy, well appointed and had a good feel about it. Bathroom was good, nice hot shower. Pool area looks lovely, we were here in winter so didn’t get to use it. Access to Warner’s Bay foreshore and Lake Macquarie is easy and enjoyable. |Complimentary breakfast is YUM! Perfect selection of cereal, fruit, yoghurt and baked delight.|A really lovely place to stay, will certainly be recommending Tantarra to all who will listen.

Stayed here in The Studio for 2 nights with our dog and would definitely return. Booking made online and check-in very simple. Checking-out just as easy. We didn't have a lot of interaction with the owners - but the contact we did have was positive. Our hostess was lovely! ||Although The Studio is at the front of the building, there was no traffic noise - we heard one motorbike and one car over two nights (both with loud exhausts). The Studio has separate living and bedroom areas, an ensuite off the bedroom area and a small private area through sliding doors from the bedroom (the total area is about the size of a good-sized hotel/motel room). Everything was clean and worked, the water pressure in the shower was good and the bed very comfortable. The floors are fully tiled - a big plus in maintaining a healthy environment when people travel with pets - with the living area including a rug over the tiles. It was fully furnished with everything we needed for a comfortable stay and even included a small selection of books to read. The television is wall-mounted in the bedroom area. There is currently only one bedside table - very slightly awkward for two of us having a cuppa while watching television. ||Our room rate included breakfasts - when we arrived there was a menu and note saying that breakfasts would be served to the rooms as Tantarra is about to refurbish its kitchen/dining area. Our breakfasts came to our rooms at the promised times and were really, really good (over the 2 days we selected 4 different hot dishes - perfect helping sizes and great cooking).||For dinners - there are lots of restaurants in the nearby Warners Bay village. We couldn't get a booking at our first choice restaurant, so ordered take-away to be delivered and had a lovely meal in. ||Overall, we were very happy with our stay and are looking forward to being able to return.
