Went to the Gong Race Event at Kembla Grange Racecourse Yesterday Saturday 23td November 2024. They have been running this event for years. There was no PLAN in place on the morning of entry where ppl would line up for prepaid tickets. Members or Horse Owners. The staff were lovely but had no idea what they were doing or how they should be running the opening of the gates at 11am. Between the security staff & the track staff they were all just fumbling along with each other as far as any plan that had been explained to them. They should have been briefed earlier in the morning as a group of what the operation looked like for the morning & guidelines on ticket structures per punters access levels. The management are to blame for their poor stuff being flustered & coming across as unprofessional as they had no idea. The grounds were looking spectacular. The wait staff were lovely & very helpful. Even to the point that I purchased most of the Veuve Cliquot that they sent a young man around to various establishments in the region to purchase more stock. Which I thought was top customer service. The food was generous. There were a few heating issues but once pointed out to staff everything returned hot. Also there were lots of staff who weren’t aware of the location of different promotions & their location on the day. Overall we had a fabulous day with family & friends. Here’s to a better run tight ship from management in 2025 ? Foot note. The FOTF needs to include A Best Dressed ppl vote award picked by the punters. This would make the addition of this event more equitable for the ladies who don’t travel around all of NSW race meets to compete in these events. The cost is not an opportunity for every lady to be able to purchase millinery finery ?

Went there in a small group last Saturday and the security were absolutely disgracefull & way over the top.
They were booting out customers left right & center for supposed too many drinks but i was witness to at least 10 evictions of people that were just sitting at tables having a relaxing day enjoying a drink and a punt on what was a beautiful sunny day not bothering any other person in the joint.
What really got my back up was when one of the security guys told me and explained that they actually have a certain amount of people that they have to eject to reach a target that's set for them.WOW you put an event on but even if the whole crowd is behaving you still have to show you have ejected some.
For a small race club like that wouldn't you want more people there behaving and spending money well that's what i witnessed but that not what happened.
The call from security was it's not us were told from above and we just deliver the message.
One Police Officer that i was talking too when a bloke got told to go even said there's nothing wrong with that bloke but he had no power to override the call from above.
Very sad to say that our group will no longer on the back of this go here and spend our hard earned and support a local race club.

Wonderful facility for the racing industry. Ample parking, pleasant and helpful staff. Attended an industry function on Illawarra Sunrise Rotary Race Day. We were in the Ken Brown Dining Room, which was a fantastic location, elevated above the finishing line with our own grand stand viewing area.

With three options for entree, mains & dessert, everyone's individual orders were taken, with GREAT patience shown by the staff for anyone NOT present. The food was all superbly presented, and delivered in a timely fashion. None of our party of twenty complained about the quality of the food.

Plenty of atmosphere for a race day, with various parties following all the major races, and plenty of punters closely following the local races. The betting services were abundant and efficient.

I would highly recommend Kembla Grange for a day out.

Kembla Grange Racecourse Dining room just gets better and better. Fabulous entree & main a standout. The best dessert. Great service and the place is buzzing. Highly recommended, the food was beyond excellent it was just beautiful compliments to the chef.

Seated in the members dining area and couldn't have been happier with the experience. Food was delicious and staff were attentive and friendly. We will be returning.

A great venue with excellent facilities, exceptional service and food. My partner and I are members an we always have a great time. We went there Thursday and the service staff were fantastic with attention to details
