Order at counter where you line up in a tiny space. Staff at counter were friendly. Young waitress needs a lot more training- slammed plates on the table. Loud atmosphere on top of the fact they had construction going on. Cheap decor. Terrible lighting. Had eggs Benny. Eggs were roar. $5 for a cheap supermarket hash brown that was cooked in oil that tasted like it was years old, odd little addition of carrot and fennel that was brown and bacon that was cooked in some sections roar in the other. The sauce they put on the eggs was a weird spicy tasting stuff that gave a gross taste in your mouth.

Was extremely busy on both days I visited, but the (Grinders) coffee was good and correct temperature. I had a tonkatsu sandwich for lunch which was delicious and went back for breakfast and had Turkish eggs with haloumi - definitely very tasty. This cafe wasn’t here last time I was in Mackay, but I’m sure it will be successful as the food is delicious and multiple staff actually asked for feedback and genuinely seemed to care about customer experience! Well done!

I’ve eaten here before and the food is generally of excellent quality and taste. This time I ordered the Okonomiyaki pancake with smoked salmon. The ingredients were excellent but the pancake was appalling. It was undercooked doughy and barely edible. It’s a shame because the quality of the food on top and presentation was excellent. But the pancake let the meal down. Normally this type of pancake is filled with cabbage and is fried, light and crispy. This was completely the opposite. Heavy and stodgy.

Very busy so must be doing something right. 15 minute wait for a coffee. Dunno about dogs where I'm eating, especially big ones. Friendly staff. Different stuff on the menu which was good.

Iv been here a few times. The food is not cheap however its worth every cent. The meals i habe had here are always fresh and quiet large. The one i had today was quiet spicy, the coffee is always good its just as good as melbourne coffee!!!!

9th Lane have the best Açai Bowls in Australia 🇦🇺 or even the world 🌎 I am well travelled and when in Mackay working or visiting my daughter these are a must.
